Your MRP PFD. (self.askMRP)

submitted by 42andatowel

TLDR: Discover what your PERSONALITY is, what your version of FUN is and what your DREAMS are. This will be your PFD to keep you afloat in the storm.

I've been very introspective lately and that has lead to some startling revelations.

About 5 years ago I lost a bunch of weight, got in shape, was basically in the best shape of my life. I made some good habit changes, cut out sodas, was going to the gym religiously, etc. Over the course of a year these good habits slowly started dropping off. I'll just have one soda at this party. I'll just grab a fast food lunch today, I'll make up my missed gym time next week. I never realized before where I went wrong.

The problem was i had accomplished all of this from the wrong frame. I wasn't becoming the man I wanted to be, but I was trying to become the man I thought my wife wanted me to be. Very BB, to the core! So when I still wasn't getting the sex I wanted and didn't have the relationship I wanted, it was really easy to let these habits I had built slide into oblivion.

As I was dusting off my MAP for the 200th time I stumbled across a section I had titled Personality, Fun, Dreams (PFD) AKA Vision! What do I want to do for ME! This is what I need to focus on. The specific tasks/steps don't matter as long as it fits my Personality, contributes to my FUN, and aligns with my Dreams!

This will be my PFD I take into the world with me. It will help me weather the storms, be they Shit Tests, trouble keeping up with good habits, or trouble kicking the bad habits!

I will be the PRIZE, but I will be my version of the PRIZE, not her version!

We wouldn't even need this place if guys could shift their viewpoint and never do things seeking approval. It undermines everything one does.

Good job.

Great post.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
