That's not completely true.

Men outperform women in women's sports now. Those people are "empowered" because they are men who chopped off their dicks.

Men have won women's state wrestling in Texas, women's national weightlifting in Australia, women's bicycle competitions...hell even "Woman of the Year" was won by a man.

Nothing proves men are superior to women like a man winning woman of the year.

Omg this should be a meme

[–]TheRedStoic0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Pretty sure it is. A few professional comedians have laughed at it, and I know it's a common joke around stand up nights.

[–]savagedealer46 points47 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Anything that pulls attention away from them is considered a threat. Women can't tell the difference between her boyfriend spending too much time with a new female co worker or an Xbox. In their minds it's one in the same .

It's a common issue that intersectionalists refer to as the oppressing class vs the oppressed. The "oppressed" class, in this case women, are seen as victims and inherently good, so when they succeed over the oppressing class it is an accomplishment. On the flip side when the oppressing class, in this case men, dominate over the oppressing class it is seen as a by product of the oppression of that class and is bad.

Intersectionality is cancerous retardation.

im probably going to be downvoted to oblivion, but this isn't about women vs men, it's about the "minority" vs the "majority", and men have traditionally held more power than women. when white people outperform racial minorities, it's the same way, "black people only make up 6% of STEM jobs" etc etc.

the only difference is, racial minorities such as black people are at the bottom of society because since after slavery they have never had the right resources to pick themselves up. There isn't such an excuse for women, however.

In what fields do women outperform men?

[–]varrr0 points1 point  (7 children) | Copy Link

This isn't even a false attribuition, it's just a non-attribuition. What are we supposed to talk about here? "why is that.." what? Who said that? Are you quoting someone in particular? Or are you just throwing around words? Is that supposed to be something which most people agree upon? Because it seems to me as something that only few delusional feminists would say, yet you decontextualise it and try to pass it around as something everybody thinks.

Do you have a source on that quote or are you just typing stuff for the sake of it?

[–]kruxofthemimed0 points1 point  (6 children) | Copy Link

There'a a fairly common notion that the reason women are outcompeted by men in certain fields is because of some underlying oppression in society itself. This is a widespread pervasive myth that extends to way more than just a few delusional feminists- my own mom who is fairly conservative, her mother, and the majority of their friends and family believe this to be true. You've probably seen the wage-gap factoid thrown around that women make less on average than men, and women/cucks will use that figure to insinuate that women are oppressed and make less money because of sex discrimination in the workplace when in reality the majority if not the entirety of the difference comes from differing hours worked, differing positions, differing prior experience and certifications, and a difference in the requested starting salary.

[–]varrr0 points1 point  (5 children) | Copy Link

Again, this is just the opinion of a little percentage of the population and has it's root in the feminist movement. It's not a widespread opinion. Like the wage gap, some idiot came up with it and people started bouncing it around social media, just like op did in this post. We keep taking those crazy and controversial statement and keep pouring gasoline on the fire just to entertain ourselves. The disturbing aspect of this post is that it doesn't even generate from a confrontation: OP doesn't say "my mom/my girlfriend/my coworkers thinks..." he just put the concept there as a FACT, as a reality that most people believe, and that's not true. I personally encoutered maybe a handful of people who had this kind of belief about gender inequality, most people don't care about this topic. Also I don't give a fuck if someone thinks what op is saying, I don't understand why we need to find things to be upset about at all costs. Tell me this is not the most unsubstantiated common place you can think of. It's so transparent in its attempt to stir up anger and fuel a dead, non existent argument.

Your mother thinks that men holds women down... so what? who cares? why are we talking about that? Does it have real world implications?

[–]kruxofthemimed1 point2 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

It's not a widespread opinion.

You're wrong. The wage gap was a major talking point for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders during their campaigns. The false sense of gender discrimination in the western world is not an idea held by a small insignificant percentage of the population- it is a huge reason for the push to get women into STEM. It is why Trudeau appointed his cabinet based on gender rather than merit.

Also I don't give a fuck if someone thinks what op is saying, I don't understand why we need to find things to be upset about at all costs

im not upset, this is just a discussion on a fairly common viewpoint many progressive people in the west hold. no reason to be upset

THIS I can talk about. A more reasonable way to present the subject, with names, faces, facts and numbers. But then again, this is a slightly different topic from what OP presented: You are talking about some social issues (or alleged ones) that we can talk about, presenting facts, while OP made a stupid commonplace observation. OP's question is loaded and already have the answer in itself. It's like I ask you:"why are you stupid?" What are you supposed to answer to that?

[–]kruxofthemimed0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

Who knows what the OPs intent was. Could be venting, wanting to see other RP guys views on it, im no mind reader. OP's observation while generalized does bring up a somewhat common cultural idea in competitive industries.

Another anecdotal example- but recently I had trained with a girl at my BJJ gym. We were practicing a knee pass and I heard her go "umph" because I had accidentally thrown my body weight onto her, so I asked "you okay?" and she (as well as our other training partner) made it a point to emphasize the fact that she could handle it despite being a girl, framing the situation into a discussion on sexual identity rather than what was a fairly simple event that regardless of gender would have been the same.

Women in western society to some extent are sold the idea that they are still oppressed and as such feel the need to emphasize their abilities in a biologically sexual context rather than through humble demonstration. This isnt to rag on women at all, I get it and if I was fed that narrative from a young age on top of feeling slightly insecure I could see myself perpetuating the same behavior, so I feel like it is a somewhat relevant topic to bring into question the attitudes pertaining to the "oppressing" and "oppressed" genders roles in society despite also seeming like a politically loaded question

[–]varrr0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Dude I totally agree with you but you are kinda putting a lot of stuff into OP's question. I get what you are saying but I still can't think of anybody saying that "men are holding women back" in the real world (when outperformed in a field). You are not saying the EXACT same thing OP's is saying. Worlds are important. Your argument is valid, OP'a argument is kinda distorted.

[–]kruxofthemimed0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Even the simplified idea that men somehow hold women back in the workplace is not an inaccurate way to characterize a fairly substantial amount of people's views in the progressive realm. The concern is that the supervisors promote/give raises to the males over females out of misogny because the supervisors themselves are often male. Men are "holding women back" in that male supervisors discriminate on female employees because patriarchy basically

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

no no, you misunderstand.

they outperformed because the standards were obviously designed for them by them, and the judges favored them. when women outperform, its only natural and just. Serves em right.

[–]korewarp-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Stop trying to find logic in feminist propaganda. It's just that, propaganda!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
