Im attractive enough to where girls are open to dating, but i ruin it or not make moves due to autism. How can I(highschool freshman) overcome this and get frame?

[–]reddit309 1 points [recovered]  (5 children) | Copy Link

9th grade bro...

  1. get a 4.0 so you can get a full ride to a uni

  2. start lifting now and take it very seriously

  3. get a job and make as much money as possible before graduating

  4. practice talking to girls but do not make them a priority whatsoever

these steps will solve your girl problems.

[–]throwawayycheyeah58 points59 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Fuck yes, seriously go crazy in the gym now. You're 15 you've got a lot of free time and you'll make progress so fast

[–]battlebrothercain12 points13 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Can’t emphasize lifting early. When you enter college you’ll have 4 years of lifting behind your belt, study and soak in all the knowledge of diet and exercise and spend this next year implenting what you learn through trial and error. You’ll be leagues ahead of everyone else, you never really notice how small college guys are until you’re in college

[–]MasterRoshi214 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

This, and perhaps for your job look for something where you will be interacting with a lot of people to help your social skills.

[–]keepusernamesecret2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Also start meditating, and read some self help books

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Meh, you are leagues ahead of most men here. Just keep practising. And don't ever cum inside of them aha

[–]Ubergeeek4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Wish I read that 10 years ago haha

[–]Configuration19984 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

this! don't cum

Is every person who posts in this sub autistic?

Jesus, people. Everyone is awkward in high school. Stop using this fucking label.

[–]DirtyBastard1330 points31 points  (22 children) | Copy Link

If we were naturally good with women, would we need the red pill? A lot of people are "autistic" because society has completely failed boys.

But yeah, highschool sucks.

[–]rambler429 1 points [recovered]  (20 children) | Copy Link

What I mean is, every other post is "I can't do X cause I'm autistic" or "My autism keeps me from X"

Every motherfucker blames autism. Is autism really that fucking prevalent in today's young men or is

just an excuse for awkward behavior?

[–]DirtyBastard135 points6 points  (12 children) | Copy Link

Self diagnosed autism (which may or may not be legit) or actual autism? The former could just be a "get out of responsiblity for self" free card.

Either way, Autism in general is more common than it used to be. Why that is is up for debate. It's possible that with new advances in medicine that autism can be detected earlier as opposed to going unnoticed. In the past autism like any other learning, disorder would be attributed to laziness or stupidity.

It could be overdiagnosed to label kids who don't behave in school, and to produce customers for the pharmaceuticals. It could be a result of bad parenting.

Maybe it's some parts of society that glorify mental illness, and people who think that they are a hero for having a sickness.

Or who knows, vaccines, fluoride in drinking water or whatever other theory.

[–]MrAgamemnon14 points15 points  (9 children) | Copy Link

Either way, Autism in general is more common than it used to be.

No, it's not. For the past 50 years every asshole had been sitting their kids in front of a TV and now computers so they fail to develop social skills they would have playing with kids on their street.

Now every awkward kid is getting a "spectrum" label because it makes the parents feel good about themselves because "it's not your fault", same applies to psychiatrists, schools, teaches... Everyone on the chain.

Autism is very real when you look at the "low functioning" ned of the spectrum, at the other end it's all about classifying as many people as possible.

[–]mysticplaces6 points7 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Autism is clearly the new ADHD. In the 1980’s any child who was even remotely restless or wasn’t a complete indoctrinated, obedient drone was classified ADHD. They were given ample amounts of Ritalin which stunted their growth and caused other developmental changes.

Severe cases of autism are extremely apparent but this new overly diagnosed spectrum disorder is total bullshit. Anyone who wasn’t properly socialized due to improper parenting, excessive video games, computers, smartphones or an indifferent, uncaring society receives a “Get Out of Jail Free” card. Learn how to actually talk to people in real life instead of hiding behind a computer screen. Stop wasting your time playing mind-numbing video games. Develop actual skills that actually matter instead of hiding behind excuses.

The post-millennial generation is clearly beyond fucked at this point. Excuse after excuse after excuse, all in an effort to not become a fully functioning adult. Clearly ample time should be spent correcting your own shortcomings before pipe dreaming of gaining the attention of women.

[–]NabroleonBonaparte-2 points-1 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

The problem is that you have a point but for the wrong reason.

There are definitely a subgroup of people looking for an excuse as to why they’re failures. This group also has an armchair understanding of things and use pop-psychology to rationalize their behavior. But this has been going on since caveman days (Thunder means the gods are angry!!).

Both Autism and ADHD (which tend to coexist due to being caused by the similar underdevelopment in the frontal lobe of the brain) have been studied for over 100yrs. It just “went viral” in the 80s news cycle.

Your disdain for millennials reminds me of church preaching original sin.

Please, next time take a class and open a textbook before you let your foodhole spill over in order to validate your frustration with people you can’t relate to

You should do some research before you start spouting bullshit. For SOME reason children are being diagnosed with autism more than ever. It's very common.

[–]mintylove9 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

More diagnoses does not mean that it is more common is what the other guy was trying to say.

[–]MrAgamemnon6 points7 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

For SOME reason children are being diagnosed with autism more than ever. It's very common. It's very common.

Because they keep lowering the threshold criteria for an ASD diagnosis. Everyone who is shy is now classified on the spectrum.

It is these same criteria that keep female autism numbers down, because being shy for a girl isn't a negative trait at all.

Being shy is now a fucking disease. Welcome to the modern world.

https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/autism/data.html

Are you a dumbass? Do you think these doctors, parents, pediatricians etc are just like oh that kids shy welp guess it autism. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's just black and white.

[–]MrAgamemnon4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Have you looked at the diagnostic criteria?

https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/autism/hcp-dsm.html

Do you think these doctors, parents, pediatricians etc are just like oh that kids shy welp guess it autism

Yes, doctors love categories and parents love hearing "it's not your fault".

This is why in recent years dozens of different issues have come under the autistic spectrum disorder. Compare the people on the low functioning of the "spectrum" to the high functioning which is basically shy kids that can't make eye contact, all banged into one category.

One category that still lacks a fundamental root cause.

This is just the same way ADHD rates are spiking up, because you know, you shouldn't discipline kids when you can give them a pill to make them focus. Except there's no pill and very little to be done.

I am just saying it's very over diagnosed. I am not the only one saying this.

[–]james3374-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, your more credible than a PhD.

[–]NabroleonBonaparte-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Shy doesn’t equal autism.

The symptoms of autism look like shyness to an outside observer.

Open a fucking book before you speak. You’re no better than the asshats online that call themselves authorities in a field and try to sell courses

Edit: spelling

[–]james3374-2 points-1 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

The stupidity of this belief is astounding.

[–]xddm26530 points1 point  (5 children) | Copy Link

Mental illness is generally always an excuse.

[–]mintylove0 points1 point  (4 children) | Copy Link

Are you for real?

[–]xddm2653-1 points0 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Yea, I dont buy the excuses that come from them.

[–]FalconWrite1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I was diagnosed when I was like 8, ADHD about 9-10. I wouldn't say it's been much of a hindrance, and it is really just a personality trait which has an element of inheritance.

My parents knew there was something up with me when I was younger, I lost interest quickly in things, would be loud, developed obsessions (trains, dinos, fish- all that jazz) and routines.

But I wouldn't have said that it was that which directly led me to getting somewhat bpilled, I think it was more so getting bullied by other kids, and being rejected for being different (I thought hugging was ok, made it obvious I liked a girl etc- mind you I was like 8-9 at the time) and that fucks with a developing kids head when your being told by pretty much all your peers "your gay" "weirdo" "ugly" etc.

But I learnt if I just hid those feelings, didn't be overtly open etc, people tended to leave me alone. And it became habit.

Autism etc's direct impacts are on how you understand people, stimuli, focus, motor skills. Everything else is just conditioning, and a lot of the people have just ended up self conditioning themselves.

Sad but true- but luckily these places are welcoming to those who want to improve and are passionate- something people on the spectrun are very good at.

[–]NabroleonBonaparte0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Autism does not equal bad social skills

It’s a result of an underdeveloped frontal lobe in the brain. This can contribute to bad social skills.

Don’t listen to ignorant fucks describe something, and then because they’re stupid and don’t know what they’re talking about, lead to you preaching an entire study to be bullshit

[–]nicyhasreddit4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

He could really have autism dude. What were you doing your first day in college or high school, before you heard of TRP? I certainly know how that day felt. Autistics go through that fucking daily. Just because you and I got over our awkwardness doesn't mean autistics do it so easily. I get people use autism as an excuse and they fuck the lives of real autistics up. I personally don't have autism but I know people who do. So don't say people are playing the victim card here. Given the bad social connotation of the word autism (which frankly shouldn't exist), I wonder why people without autism would publicly use the word autism as an excuse.

[–]OneHandToFapThemAll5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe he was diagnosed with autism how the fuck do you know?

[–]SgtRimjob 1 points [recovered]  (6 children) | Copy Link

I personally think autism is becoming the new ADHD. I think both are real, but also pretty rare and over/misdiagnosed. It’s easier (and more profitable) for doctors to tell parents their kid has ADHD than to tell them their kid has Type A personality and they have poor parenting skills. Throw in some weirdness too, and it’s autism.

I understand where the doctors are coming from to some extent. But you are correct, the label should not be used/embraced. It seems like an excuse and something to hide behind to make up for shitty behavior.

[–]NabroleonBonaparte0 points1 point  (5 children) | Copy Link

Except for the fact that if you give normal ppl the medication for ADHD they’ll become hyper, while ppl with ADHD calm down.

The easy way to know you have ADHD is if you fall asleep / get drowsy after having caffeine. Even then, you would then need to determine the severity of your dopamine deficiency to discover how far along the ADHD severity spectrum you are.

If you don’t know neurochemistry or psychiatry please for the sake of everyone else’s education shut the fuck up.

You’re on a slippery slope to sounding like an anti-vaxxer

[–]SgtRimjob 1 points [recovered]  (4 children) | Copy Link

Lmfao I have a professional health degree. I, admittedly, don’t have a whole lot of specialized experience in neurochemistry and psychiatry, but MY education included such coursework and I deal with mental health on a daily basis.

Your first part is partially true, at best. And even the parts you did get somewhat “right” are dumbed down to the point they’re essentially wrong. So how about YOU shut the fuck up for the sake of our education.

[–]NabroleonBonaparte-1 points0 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Lmfao I have a professional health degree

Wtf does that mean?

Nutrition? Kinesiology? Are you a fitness instructor?

And don’t use the word “specialized” to diminish the fact that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

lots of info disproving Adderall makes non-ADHD users hyper

I made an exaggeration to emphasize my point. ADHDrs get calm on stimulants, most people get jittery. There’s also differences between symptoms of medications amongst ADHDrs. That’s why a psychiatrist cycles you through multiple meds to observe your symptoms. Some ADHDrs might work fine with Adderall but then get depressed on Ritalin.

So yes I dumbed it down because I’m not writing a thesis amongst ppl in the field, I’m typing on a forum dedicated to getting laid. I wrongly made the assumption you’d understand that intuitively.

There are several peer reviewed studies...

As always, mentioning sources to bolster their credibility but never linking anything because they never read them or they would actually prove them wrong.

Like usual, when people get exposed they begin attacking the person instead of the argument because their feelings got hurt and they’re backed into a corner.

caffeine as a means to a diagnosis

No, you still have to see a psychiatrist to confirm due to the fact that there are multiple other disorders that are a result of dopamine levels. ADHD is mostly treated with stimulants. Caffeine is a stimulant, thats why drowsiness after caffeine should raise a red flag. Although rare, some people may even be prescribed Meth (Desoxyn) to handle symptoms.

Good luck with your “professional health” endeavors.

edit: came back to address more bull

[–]SgtRimjob 1 points [recovered]  (2 children) | Copy Link

I have a BSN along with some grad school work towards PA. Professional health refers to requiring a license to practice. Kind of common knowledge in the medical world...

Trying to access academic articles and link on mobile is difficult and not practical at this part of my day. A simple google search would do you wonders. It’s ironic that my credibility is in question for “lacking sources” but I’m literally telling you how to find them. Yet you have 0 sources and your info seems like a dumbed down WebMd article with generic info.

[–]NabroleonBonaparte0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Just say you’re a fucking RN and working toward physician assistant. Don’t try to rephrase what you do to sound like you have more credibility. You knew what I was asking.

That being said, unless you’re still weaseling, you don’t work with mental health. Attending to an unstable patient is not the same as a Dr diagnosing and prescribing medication to treat a mental illness.

Lmao look at yourself. There was no mention of finding academic articles and it’s not difficult to just post the title of a study. THAT would be considered “telling me how to find them.” So many excuses...

Yet you have 0 sources and your info seems like a dumbed down WebMd article with generic claims.

BUT AM I WRONG?

You continue to attack the messenger instead of the arguments because you can’t counter anything I’ve stated.

I’d continue trying to have a discussion but I’m afraid I might chase your moving goalposts to another city.

Have a good day

[–]someonesopinion69690 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Basically most people are void of social interaction so now they come to the conclusion they're autistic.

The best change would be to spend more time interacting with others, you tend to stop being so socially gifted if you spend your time alone etc

[–][deleted]-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

What

[–]TRP VanguardWhisper14 points15 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Don't date autistic girls.

I kinda ignored her

[–]rugged799 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]good-look4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

damn ur lucky...IGNORE NORMIE ADVICE...lift heavy, learn to socialize, study. in that order, take whats urs youmg nigga i am srsly jelly

[–]macheagle0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

May I ask what are the characteristics from autism that you think makes you unattractive when they are displayed?

[–]Alwaysthecase_920 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

That you're asking such a question at this age is a good sign. It shows self awareness. (If only I had an ounce of it a decade ago when I was your age, or even later on...)

Good luck to the future beast.

Yea

[–]mickey__0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Define exactly what you doing that end up being autistic

[–]rockyp32-2 points-1 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah man be careful with the label man it can hold you back trust me it happened to me. Most of the time it’s not oermanseant in m yooibion it jsut means you weren’t socialized properly so you gotta learn the hard way face your social fear and it’ll get better i was in the same boat and I still am

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
