I'm sitting here with what I know is depression pumping through my veins, 5k in the bank, no debt, totally lost..

My last job was working with adults to had intellectual disabilities and I couldn't handle it as a whole. I was spat on, chased, grabbed, shoved, had poo thrown at me, the lot. And it was almost every day.

I'm completely lost now, no direction at all, I don't know where to begin looking or what to look for. I can't even see friends cause I have none. Fuck.

Feeling overwhelmed and existential again. Sucks man.

I lift through the week and can put on the social mask but that's about all I can do lately.

When we all go through adversity its tough to see a clear vision in all the pain.

What you need to do now is come back to your core values in life. What do you want? Women? Cars? Money?

What ever it is, once you've come back to what you really want everything else becomes secondary.

I'd advise to game and to lift religiously, the lifting will strengthen your frame and make you feel strong and gaming will literally... I mean this shit is the best self help you could ever do.

Take some time off and relax though come back to a grounded more centered version of you, if you need to hit the spa the hit the spa etc

But don't forget that thru pain we grow brother and you'll have to pick yourself up from your boot straps and move forwards, life doesn't wait for anyone.

Good luck bro

[–]abomba2413 points14 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Ya man, I'd try to look at this more positively. You learned that wasnt right for you and now you have the whole world open to you again. Relax, take some deep breaths, and follow the above.

Though I wouldn't prioritize gaming till you sort out your own priorities and goals

[–]huikdjeienrbr1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

What If you already game and get laid a lot? I am recently getting over a fierce bout of depression and probably had the most sex in my life during that period...maybe it’s because I used tinder/went out at night hammered - are you referring to a specific type of game like day game in coffee shops on the street etc?

[–]Conway270974 points75 points  (13 children) | Copy Link

You know what I find fucking crazy? Reddit has labeled TRP and anyone associated with it as people in a “hate group”. I’ve even been banned from certain subreddits just for following TRP and AskTRP....

But EVERY FUCKING TIME I come onto this sub all I see is a bunch of bro’s giving out real advice and supporting one another. You don’t get pussy footed around and your feelings certainly aren’t saved here - but every fucking person on here has your best interest at heart and will drop the cold hard truth on you.

I don’t fucking get it man...

[–]ahackercalled4chan29 points30 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

TRP goes against the mainstream SJW agenda. this is why you see tons of hate for it on Reddit. TRP empowers men to live the lives they want to live instead of being dependent & reactionary to what life brings.

No need to root around in the mud with the pigs. Let them have their little sub. Less subs getting banned is ultimately better for us, and what is good for us is what is important.

[–]proplfax1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

you should read the darktriadfemale sub. evil shit.

[–]maddisser1011 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I've been banned too! Like what the fuck! I don't even agree with half the people on here nor the shit say - but I agree with the main principles of TRP. The women-hating, incel radicals are the ones that need to be banned - not simple practitioners and followers. Its like even whispering about it gets you banned.

[–][deleted]  (4 children) | Copy Link

[deleted]

[–]Conway27093 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It was basically like a blanket ban for everyone who is subscribed to TRP. It read something to the effect of “you can still read the posts on here but you can not comment or post yourself because you are affiliated in a hate group. If you unsubscribe to those subreddits, we will lift the ban.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at the stupidity.

[–]maddisser10141 points42 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

You have no debt and you have money saved up. Your first priority is to get a job - ANY JOB. Work gives us a structure for the week that we can plan meals, workouts, and sleep around. Your world may start to spiral out of control due to lack of structure. Every day should be put towards applying to jobs and bettering yourself (so stick to going to the gym every day).

Literally any job. Whole foods, BJs, Costco, and Amazon all pay well for example and you have ample experience already due to your high stress environment you worked in prior.

[–]Alok4utoday10 points11 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

absolutely .. i was in the same situation 1 year back . The job was 16 hours a day and i was sleeping for 4 hours. I quit after 1 months. The first thing is get a job , any job . remember dont disrespect it. Money will brinmg security .

[–]DonDXP6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

listen to him. I have been gloating about avoiding a real job for 4 years now... and its a shit show. Without structure you dont even get excited about nothing to do or playing video games or anything else -because there is no contrast. And its hard to start doing real work because you've become a lazy POS.

[–]PersonalDevKit4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Structure is suprisingly key to happiness. I had an incredible job but after 6 months of finding out at 10pm at night I was working at 5am I was done. It had sapped all the joy out of the job because the rest of my life had fallen into a mess.

[–]ac7141 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Glad someone said this because it was my first thought. Most people need the income or/and structure as a base. Not having it just increases the problem.

[–]Senior Endorseddr_warlock20 points21 points  (12 children) | Copy Link

You will never find fulfillment in a job unless you have pride in your work, have a high degree of freedom, shown respect, have a masculine work culture, and have the ability to build something for yourself on the side... guess how many careers offer that? Almost none. The reality is all jobs suck. TRP mindset (not just about women) and employee-status are incompatible. Dissatisfaction will always linger on some level.

[–]xxx69harambe69xxx7 points8 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

fuck dude, you're absolutely right. The best combo I've found is all of the above but missing masculine work culture OR all of the above but missing respect. The reason why is because one can construct those if one has the mental discipline and willpower to block out those negatives (IE just avoiding interacting with all the unmasculine coworkers, or avoiding situations where people will look down upon your work)

[–]Senior Endorseddr_warlock1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

You not being able to mentally adapt to the system (accept your place) is not a negative reflection on you.The current system is not good for anyone's health. It's just been going on so long people view it as something normal.

[–]GiraffeOnWheels2 points3 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

Construction fits the bill in a lot of cases. I’m in that field and love it.

[–]thrwy754791 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

How long have you been doing it? Long-term it does not look good.

[–]GiraffeOnWheels0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

About five years. I’m an operator so the physical strain is less of an issue for me.

[–]Senior Endorseddr_warlock0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

edited.

It's only good when you've got your license and switch companies that will pay you your fair compensation. You've gotta work your way up because your work is literally quantifiable (unlike other industries) and beginners know nothing (cost of training). Otherwise you're competing with a bunch of immigrants that'll accept low pay and no benefits and a bunch of other youngsters who don't know better. Construction industry goes for "just good enough" to "quality". A few professionals littered by a bunch of cheap labor is the preferred combo.

[–]GiraffeOnWheels0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I agree. I’m a union operator, it’s awesome. I’ve worked with non union guys... not so great.

[–]2INNASKILLZ2K180 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

It can be done. Very very very few 'jobs' will offer satisfaction and fulfillment, but it's possible.

It's just worth assuming they all suck.

[–]GiraffeOnWheels1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Eh I don’t think that’s really a good mindset to have. I really like Mike Rowe’s perspectives. Instead of looking for the job that you have a passion for, bring your passion to the job. If you just assume your job sucks, it’s going to suck no matter what it is.

[–]2INNASKILLZ2K180 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I do agree. It's just a lot of jobs do suck. It's why I urge guys to think very carefully about their field and how they can get ahead through it.

Woodworking

[–]Sylvester_Sterone8 points9 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel you. I was a Day Services Coordinator at a place like that. Very low pay but I enjoyed creating opportunities for people in their community.

I actually loved the people but couldn’t handle how the administration restricted their lives and treated staff.

At 29 I had no libido, no life, still life’s, and could not sleep. I thought I was going bipolar. I ended up going to psychiatrist and fmla leave because of it.

Put on antidepressants... got addicted. Finally I was put in TRT through an anti aging clinic. Life changed.

Hang in there. What do you have a degree in?

Overcome, bro.

[–]19yoManChild0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

It be like that sometimes bro. You can always bounce back harder than you fall if you follow the fundamental tenets of TheRedPill (reference sidebar for details). At 21yo I managed to SAVE $20k within 5 months and now at 22yo I have under $1000 saved to events out of my control, betrayals, and legal troubles.

Life is rarely a straight build up to success. Life often hits you in waves financially especially if your are entrepreneurial. You have times where you will make lots of money and times where you will make little money. You have to ride with the waves and learn how to be broke to truly be successful as an entrepreneur. Stay disciplined, and don’t become too attached to money. Know that you will make it anyway

[–]mrbasic-9 points10 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

You have no debt and have money squirreled away. If you aren't in a HCOL area and can spare a month, decompress from what you went through. To be put through something like that on a daily basis has to be mentally draining.

In the meantime, keep up the lifting, but pick up a hobby because you need to fill your time up with something. Plus, it will give you something to look forward to during the week.

When I played basketball, sometimes the team was just off. Our coach would call a 45 second timeout for us to get off the court and get our mind right again. Once the 45 seconds were up, a buzzer would sound, we would get back out there and do what we had to do to win.

So I'm telling you: take your timeout and get your mind right, but when the buzzer sounds, get back out there and start winning.

Don't be an idiot. You can "just fucking chill" for a week and then apply immediately after you're 100% recharged.

Sell everything, move to asia, start teaching English and start traveling.

[–]superomar132 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Drop everything and everyone at home, pick a country where you can get a job and travel. (I picked Australia). Travel, work, stay in hostels. Shit will change you for the better, make you more appreciative, and you will pick up lifetime friends whether you want to or not. Do it now.

[–]TheCiph3r2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Can’t really give you a specific advice but read Millionaire Fastlane by MJ De Marco. I read it for the sake of learning how to earn more money but I learned about life instead and knew what I’m supposed to do.

But I’m sure everyone here will agree that invest that money to yourself. Meaning spend it on stuff that will make a better person in the long run. I personally would advice you to start your own business.

[–]IndiansSmellLikePoo1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

That's rough man. I'd say go to therapy and talk to your friends. Hit the gym as well.

[–]Vitamin_ABCDE1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It could be way worse, you have savings and no debt, which puts you above like 50% of Americans

As others have said, get a job first; lower your standards if you must. This will provide you with a schedule you can base other activities around. Also you will meet other people and work on your social skills.

Also consider finding a reputable male therapist

[–]Maybelowsmv1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Take a rest for a week or two. Find another job. Perhaps a warehouse job for a bit. If you have a degree, you could try becoming a supply teacher. Or any other entry-level job. Just keep saving up and do the jobs that allow you to have a work and life balance Also try journaling, eating healthy, getting fresh air and talking to a good friend about life (in person & in a relaxed way. Sober)

I don't think his first prioritiy after quitting his job would be to spend the remainder of his savings.

[–]offbeat_glass1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Whoa, you don't know this yet but your position is practically gold. Your 25, you're at your peak of energy levels, testosterone, passion. You're young enough to still do something with your life. You have money in the bank so there's no immediate pressure. It sounds like you have all your limbs. So now you can ask yourself if you had a job what would you want it to offer? I realized when I was 25 (working in a weld shop) that I want my job to allow me to travel, be exciting, have all genders young and all (instead of greasy men in a weld shop) I want it to help people somehow and I want to be able to hustle when I feel motivated. My advice would be to go a some events and talk to a bunch of people. Go to a music festival, going to my first music festival made me realize that people live all sorts of different ways. Idk what your like at all, but use this time wisely. Don't get a girlfriend. In three years you probably won't even want the girl that you've chosen right now if you level up a bunch. I'm not where I want ti be in life either, but five years ago I was basically where you are. I broke up with my girlfriend. Bought a glass blowing torch and kiln and today I have a cool ass girlfriend and blow glass full time. Hope you find your way!

Get the fuck outta the house. What ever you do, get OUT! Get a temp job! Get up on time in the morning and stick to a routine

[–]Nastynatee0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Fuck man I feel this post, I worked in the special needs area of social services for about 7yrs, it was the low pay that made me leave but went thru the same stress of that job. I left about 5 yrs ago now. Working construction which pays better but not as fulfilling. Your only 25 man, highly suggest going back to school for SOMETHING. U have some time but not much. Take the dive man. In the meantime get a job that'll keep it Bill's paid while searching for a career that requires investment

[–]Scared_Dare220 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

This sounds like me when I was your age, 3 years ago before I found TRP. I ended up jumping across the world to teach English in Asia. I found TRP there and my motivation to become better.

Downsides are lots of the people out here are beta losers and misfits from their home countries, culture shock can be real if you've never traveled, and you have to deal with kids. But Asian girls love foreigners, the vacation times is ridiculous and you can earn 6 figures a year if you want to hustle - more importantly the taxes are much lower (make 6k a month, be able to put away $4000-4500 of that)

Something to look into if you're looking to really switch things up. Best decision I ever made.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Send that 5k to me since you are not worthy enough for it anymore

[–]Savior16660 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Do you lift?

There's a reason we ask this. Usually Lifting has GREAT effects on curbing depression.

Next, do you sleep well around 7-9 hrs a night uninterupted? This also has great effects on curbing depression.

Do you eat well? i.e. no sodas, lots of water, lots of protein, not many bad carbs (breads sugars etc)

This ALSO has great effects on depression.

Start by doing these things first, then see if you improve or not.

[–]PhaedrusHunt0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Move to Texas, work in the oil fields. Six figures, and so much overtime you'll sleep like a baby all the time. You won't have time for depression

[–]cornbread07-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

You have a whole life ahead of you.

What are you passionate about? What do you love doing? What are you good at?

Find something that has those 3 things in common and start from there.

[–]Rimefang-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Make a plan. Stick to it.

[–]SalporinRP-2 points-1 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Number 1 priority is to beat your depression. Number 2 priority is to get a job and get your life together.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
