Is it just me or when there is something addressing feminisms dark underbelly (which is huge) they just ignore it. I don’t think I’ve seen one big feminist say anything addressing their dark underbelly.

Freedom of speech? Of course. Freedom after speech? We'll see about that.

How did he go to jail just for criticizing a judge?

[–]moria0 6 points7 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

contempt of court probably or some such bullshit. Judges do not put up with "disrespect"

[–]Doc-Engineer 4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

"That didn’t stop officials from charging Vanderhagen with malicious use of telecommunications services in July and letting him out on bond. But he continued to criticize Rancilio on social media after his release."

The judge saw her name on his posts and reported it because she felt threatened. The police found there to be nothing threatening in the posts. They charged him anyways.

And a $500,000 bond for talking shit about a judge, even if it were the second time? Thats like a fucking murder bond, how in the hell is that considered reasonable punishment?

It was a woman who gave custody of a child to a woman? Hmm...

[–]moria0 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep. White guys - don't have kids, only the important people are allowed to do that.

[–]Umbrella82 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought America has free speech.....apparently not🤔

[–]Andieleaandie 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Just to clarify, I haven’t read very much into this, HOWEVER, the U.S. has freedom of speech, this man could not go to jail for criticizing a judge unless he was slandering or deliberately saying something untrue that would cost the judge their livelihood. With that said, it’s possible he was talking shit in the courtroom, he could have been held in contempt if he was persistently ignoring the judges orders to be quiet.
