What? Who even thinks this? (i.redd.it)

submitted by Joraaah

Quite the opposite actually

[–]username213651 points52 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow just when you thought the feminist ideology couldn’t get any more delusional

[–]Aauo268838 points39 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

We focus way too much on “female pain!”

[–]L_Lawliet___22 points23 points  (11 children) | Copy Link

Men are 80% of all suicides and yet this whore dares to say this

[–]Boku_wa_kira_da1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Completely agreed

[–]L_Lawliet___0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Kira

[–]ANIKAHirsch16 points17 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

If anything it’s taken more seriously. No one can stand to see a woman in distress — men and women alike.

[–]hawknose3310 points11 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

The original post is very obviously about menstrual pain. Something that is supposed to happen to women. Yeah, it's an unpleasant experience. This happens every month or so. This is why it's not taken seriously. It's supposed to happen. If a woman and a man are both having eye pain, people will tell you to go to the doctor. If a young woman is complaining about her period pain, it's like dude haven't you had this for like 10 years now. You're not dying if you are go to the doctor.

[–]Zinziberruderalis0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Well I suppose doctors would sit up and take notice if a man complained of menstrual pain.

[–]hawknose330 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

They'd sent him the psych ward probs.

[–]read-a-lot9 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

So the reason that men’s pain is taken more seriously is because we rarely display any outward signs of pain unless it’s really f***ing bad and thus doctors take men more seriously when they complain. Additionally, men tend to have a higher pain tolerance and are just tougher than most women because we have done dumb/insane things and gotten hurt at a much greater rate than most women.

[–]InformalCriticism9 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists believe that they're not being treated as medical patients the same way as men by doctors. There's some evidence to show that, but hardly enough to write about it.

[–]AngelFire_3_141567 points8 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Huh? I thought all pain is taken seriously.

[–]aAvocado628466 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Honestly, male pain is not taken seriously. If something hurts u should just man up or don’t be a pussy.

The Telegraph as well, a conservative newspaper. I had been noticing this kind of shit creeping in before I canceleld my subscription. The article that tipped the balance was the one about the 'gender commuter gap'. Fucking madness.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Have a look through my post history, you’ll see a lot of liberal nonsense from the supposed “conservative” newspaper, very disappointing.

[–]Cutthroatmom5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I work in a medical clinic. Not once, in 20 years, has a patient’s complaint of pain been disregarded or left untreated because of the patient’s sex.

"I need period leave from work. Every month. And I have months where it's 6 or 7 days. I should be paid the exact same as my male counterparts."

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

My ex girlfriend had nearly debilitating period cramps, I could understand her taking off work for it. My current girlfriend has normal period cramps, I don't think taking off work for cramps has even crossed her mind.

[–]Mick_Donalds0 points1 point  (3 children) | Copy Link

As an employer, I would make her take an unpaid leave of absence for it. Why would I pay someone the same as everyone else if they have debilitating medical issues that affect their output of work/productivity? Why would I even hire that person to begin with?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

If she had paid time off saved up why not use it? As an employer you can't make her do anything, she can decide if she wants to take paid or unpaid leave for it herself

[–]Mick_Donalds0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

I damn sure wouldn't pay her to take additional days of leave per month just because she has debilitating medical issues. How is that fair to the rest of the workforce? Sure, she could use her paid time off, but there's a limit to that in most workplaces too. I'd get around it by just not retaining a person who can't make it to work and be punctual. Any smart employer would.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Is it fair to the rest of the workforce for me to take a vacation in the middle of the holiday season? How would taking medical leave be any different?

[–]julianleung1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I need to visit prostitute 6 or 7 times a month. I think it should be subsidized.

[–]Joemac_3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Man gets kicked in the balls

Lol funii

Woman gets kicked in the crotch

Omg no so violent

[–]pontiflexrex1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Men psychological pain is less likely to be treated. Women physical pain is less likely to be treated. Both are true.

Why are most commenters turning it into a feminist issue, both truth are widely documented! Sources that point at bias toward men’s mental health are the same that will tell you that women-specific pains are often being ignored.

[–]MAGA-TIME2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s literally the opposite. When females are in pain people will always ask them if they are okay or what to do to help. If men are in pain they will just be told to man up.

[–]aroh1008761 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

There's a whole month dedicated to breast cancer for God's sake.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists think this

[–]tw1nm3t30r1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Because a man works harder.

[–]TrannysNeedPimozide0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

"Man up"

"take it like a man"

"be a man about it"

Literally the opposite of relaity

[–]rockgodx0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

This is literally the opposite of true... I work in the emergency center and tons of men are near disregarded before they are seen. The symptoms that men face for abdominal symptoms are much less significant in pointing to a serious issue in comparison to women. Like if a dude comes in with flank pain, its completely less serious then men. Like some women think ordering pregnancy tests when they claim they can't be pregnant is some kind of "demeaning" or "not being taken seriously". It's pretty important to check because it could cause symptoms or worsen symptoms or mean that the situation is of differing variability.

[–]MajesticSpaceCat0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Tell me that when women make up 76% of suicides.

[–]cowyeti0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]TrannysNeedPimozide0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

John Oliver

No, it isn't. In fact, that's just lying propaganda.

[–]cowyeti0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Care to elaborate?

[–]VNyall-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

This was probably written by a woman who complained about little aches and pains to her boyfriend and he started getting annoyed by it after a while

[–]julianleung-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Our pain, is that we are programmed to chase after you.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
