"Woman Warrior" "Fearless Female" Sure, until they pick a fight with a dude and get punched in the face. 😂 🤣

I guess it will never happen. The "feminist" will scream like a maniac "I'm a female you can't hit me".(works for me)

I’d have a problem if it was hate to men or something like that, but why is this a problem?

Women and men alike would roll their eyes at fanny packs with prints like "AMAZING MAN" or "MALE HERO". It's cringy as all hell. There's nothing fearless about walking around with a fanny pack in a first world country. Feminism is not about replacing toxic masculinity with toxic femininity.

How does this attack men though

[–]lunardune_170 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

It doesn’t, but apparently there’s an issue here with women displaying strength or self love? Even if it’s a seemingly “unnecessary” message to some people, there are many other targeted clothing/accessories/etc with far more obnoxious messages. There’s literally a whole sub devoted to T-shirt’s that say “I’m a manly man with a gun, I’ll beat you up if you look at my girl, I have anger issues” or something along those lines. I mean, by comparison, the picture above is tame :/

Side note: instead of going after harmless stuff like this, this sub needs to address REAL criticisms of feminism (for instance it’s more radical members, from which messages like “destroy men in power” might be produced). Or how about people address toxic masculinity instead? Toxic displays of aggressiveness and ignorance towards females are equally damaging as the bra-burning, man-hating subset of feminists that this sub seems to go after. Plus, is it worth judging a movement by its radical members? I can see why people would do it but isn’t it more mature to address them while simultaneously understanding the movement isn’t founded upon these corrupt ideologies?

[–]luckyPjs0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

You’re absolutely right I think this sub is becoming a vessel for targeting women and should be addressed as this is nothing but non targeted positivity, I find it strange the lengths some people go to to forward this warped view of women.

I agree feminism does have some issues but I feel this happens whenever a human rights issues is vocalised, such as Black Lives Matter can result in extremist followers however small, but the intention of these groups are so vitally important for change while being critiqued shouldn’t be dismissed fully.

I feel SJW are a much smaller but very vocal group and has tainted the word feminism along with being given a spotlight by the media and internet it’s warped the public perception of what feminism is.

[–]lunardune_170 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly! I honestly don’t deeply blame people for their ill-formed judgments, because it can’t be denied that vocal “feminists” are the more controversial ones that are giving the movement a bad reputation. It can’t be denied that feminism has its downsides. But as we do with religion, we should always encourage people to NOT judge a diverse and vital movement based off its radical members!

Feminism is absolutely necessary. This stands true in less developed nations as much as it does in the western world. In the western world, women can use their voice to advocate for the aforementioned disadvantaged female populations (in Asia and the Middle East for example). And westernized feminism is still useful to bring issues of POC citizens to light- consider underpaid Latina women for example, or the Native American women of Canada who are routinely abused and murdered. This is what feminism should be centred around, and not petty problems like “manspreading” or “free bleeding” and such.

I would argue this sub should revolve around ways to make feminism more productive (and inclusive), as THIS is what is desperately needed today. So many violations of basic human rights are occurring all around the world, affecting all genders. Western feminism should definitely focus on that. And critics of feminism should do likewise, instead of trashing an entire movement based on its few flaws.

You’re absolutely right I genuinely couldn’t agree with you more

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
