Need your help in getting my mind straightened up (self.asktrp)

I usually go around saying hi to my friends (at office) and recently I realized am the one who usually goes around doing this. So I kinda stopped. I also bought some materialistic things recently. Heard thru the grape vine that people think I stopped talking to them cuz I bought this new material thing. They don't talk to me much. How do you not be an a "up and shiny, bright smiled" beta without being an asshole.

First of all, almost everyone loves a bright shiny and positive guy. In my past jobs they've always got the most women. I don't know where people on here come under the illusion that "alphas" have to quiet, silent, stoic jerks who never show emotion.

It highly likely your colleagues are jealous of your new "material things", that or you are leaving something out.

If you were going around and saying hi but they never did back it's highly likely they either didn't like you for some reason or they are shy and have crappy social skills. If it was the latter, I would just continue being positive and establishing friendships and connections.

Hey thanks for the reply.

They reciprocate the same back in the day, they'd come and speak with me or say hi.

When I say up and shiny bright smiled beta, I mean, a guy who just goes around saying hi to everyone but no value. If you know what I mean.

I've just recently stopped doing that n it looks like people have connected that with the material things I've gotten.

I supposed I shudnt read too much into it.
