I still remember being startled in the early 1990s when I left my younger girlfriend alone in the living room for a while, then came back to discover that she'd fired up the Nintendo and was playing Super Mario. That was the very first time in the 12 years that I'd been playing computer games that I'd ever seen a girl voluntarily play a video game by herself.

Of course, as it is rightly said, women now play the biggest video game of all. It's called "Facebook".
