Creep shaming is a term referring to the villainization of men who do not conform to social norms revolving around many women's (particularly feminists') expectations and comfort zones. It stems from the notion that a man's intents are irrelevant compared to how a woman perceives his actions. Hence, some feminists and even non-feminists claim that men who are socially awkward, who exhibit unusual conversation traits or speech patterns, or who show any interest in women who do not reciprocate the attraction are "creeps" and likely perpetrators of sex crimes. Men's Rights Activists argue that this is an unfair demonization of male sexuality as well as men as a whole, and that it particularly targets men on the autism spectrum who may not have sufficient awareness to avoid behaving in unusual and thus "creepy" ways.
