It's not a bad word in many languages from Spanish to Russian. My advice is to only sleep with foreign women, so that when they inevitably use the word it is not offensive. Problem avoided.

For comparison, it's way more politically correct to criticize white people, call white men "white boy", whitey, cracker, whatever; and as a white man, I tend to date ethnic women.
