You will learn not to invest emotionally with practice and experience. This is something that can't be learnt from books. Sounds like you are still seeking validation from your friends. You need to make a conscious effort to not give a fuck what they think (within limits, don't go full autist).

Its okay to feel dude. Its what makes us human. Id even go as far to say its okay to fall in "love". Its our biology that "love" is necessary to reproduce. But you need to remember that the "love" im describing will disappear over time, and when it does to move on. Not to keep it going to reenact a disney movie.

I assume you're in college. If you're looking to get out of monk mode, you should at least be in good enough shape to get matches on tinder (I use this as a general threshold). I'd recommend just making friends with girls in class or even via tinder. Mark some of them as girls you will never Fuck, and then it will make it easier to talk to them. The key is to make a broad network of friends who are girls because then that gives you access to all of their extended friends, who are fair game.
