I mean what really constitutes an Alpha?

In the movie Forrest Gump is portrated as a guy who had a lot of luck. From the start of his childhood, the constant bullying helped him gain full control of his legs, him running like an idiot trough town all day got him noticed by a college football coach, once he finished college by luck there was an army recruiter when he didn't know what to do next, during his training he met his best friend who gave him another future goal outside of the military, after he got shot he took a liking to ping pong and became a pro, after countless days of fishing nothing a big storm came and destroyed every single boat besides him making him a wealthy guy, he then trusted his shares of the company to his Lieutenant which in turn took his shares and invested it in Apple stocks making him a millionare.

But he still isn't alpha. Forrest was just a mentally aged boy in a grown body. He took every challenge or oportunity that came to him because he never knew the risks. He was ignorant to the world but that ignorance was what ultimately separated him from other people.

When he didn't know what to do, he would decide to run, literally.

He loved Jenny because he always saw her as the first person to accept him for who he was besides his mother. He would ignore the fact that Jenny took hardcore drugs, that she was a drifter, that she chose everybody but him. But he still believed.

The only good thing that you can take from Forrest is that when one door closes, another opens.

But that's it, everything else is awful advice in real life. Live a life without a clear path. Love the girl whom never loved you. Sacrifice everything for that person. All of it is bad advice.

The movie has a "happy" ending because Forrest ended up with Jenny and his son. But that's all glossed over.

Before his last meeting with Jenny, Forrest starts a conversation with the other people waiting for the bus. After he finishes recalling how his boat survived one of the passengers laughs, saying that THE millionare Forrest couldn't be him and leaves. Meaning even if Jenny in the past didn't know Forrest was a millionare (during the first time they had sex) she would have known by know that he was indeed a millionare.

So imagine this, a single mother in the 1970s with no education, with a past history of abusive partners, with drug addiction problems, with self-destructive tendencies and who is dying of AIDS, who finds out that his retarded friend (during the college scene you find out Jenny's true opinions of Forrest) is a millionare. Isn't there a possibility of her just making a little "white" lie to give her child a better future?

If anything this movie should be a wake up call for you, Jenny is the best example of AWALT you can have. She went trough hundreds of guys, countless drugs, to countless relationships to finally during her old days (over 30) decide to immediately
marry her last best option, to die and leave her son in her orbiter's hands.

In my opinion, no Forrest was never an alpha, he always had someone guiding him in some way during his life. Constant luck made him successful. Did he take oportunities? Of course he did, but the difference between Forrest and a person with Alpha qualities is this, ignorance. An Alpha evaluates the pros and cons of any situation, if the cons outweigh the pros in every likely situation he wont take that chance. Forrest on the other hand doesn't have the mental capacity to evaluate situations, he charges in without thinking if he actually should, when he went to Vietnam he didn't even think he could die, he knew the concept but he could not comprehend the severity of the situation, when his squad was ambushed he stood still like a stone until he was given orders to take cover and run. Meaning that just like a child he doesn't have the mental capacity to do more than one thing at a time.
