This happened a while ago but I can't make heads or tails of what I could have done. I have a feeling this will happen more so I'd like to know what I could do next time.

I went to a seminar that ended up being a sham. This guy was trying to convince us to buy his elite package to learn how to increase sales for our small businesses. Disappointing and having driven a long way; mentality prepared to meet people; I decided I was going to try chatting up with people anyway. This one 20-something had been in the corner of my eye and so I moved my chair over to hers and sat down. I could tell she wasn't buying the sham either so we hit off with that topic. I spent the next few minutes learning what she did for a living, what she was hoping to learn from this, etc. I told her what my business did and I was here to make new connections. We were politely asked to leave so I told her we could go outside and talk more.

We walked, talked, and exchanged contact info. I met her up about 2-3 weeks later to see what my small business could do for her small business. Thinking we were being completely professional I dressed and prepared myself to be in business mode. She shows up in yoga pants and loose cut shirt. Since I'm still growing my small company I decided -not- to try and derail from the original agenda of selling my services. I really need the work. While she on the other hand was playful, nonchalant, and later blunt about not having any money at the moment to spend but was convinced.

It went fine and playful but I felt like there was a miscommunication of intent. I was purely interested in business. While I think I've pulled off the smoothest pickup routine in my career so far while at the same time cock blocking myself with it. When it was over she got up ahead of me, adjusted her yoga pants right in front of me and she had a great ass lemme tell you.

SO, I know some of you might say don't mix business with pleasure. However a lot of guys go to business conventions and get laid anyway. I feel like it won't matter as long as she wasn't a current client. And she had made it clear that she wasn't looking to do any business immediately. How could I have smoothly transitioned from formal sales to setting something up? When I'm on business-mode I can't see a clear way of being fluid with this sort of situation.
