What's the difference between a girl and a woman?

I pretty much use them as synonyms, but strong independent women think that girl is to woman what boy is to man. In other words, it's the younger, naive, immature, less desirable version.

Of course, that isn't true. Younger girls (18-25) are the most desirable. It's just a way for older women to convince themselves that they aren't well past their expiration date.

Example:

If you ignore a girl, she will chase you.
If you ignore a woman, she will replace you.

It's a nice thing to tell themselves, but in reality, a girl/woman regardless of age will chase a man who ignores her if she perceives him as valuable, and ignore a man she perceives as non-valuable regardless of whether he's ignoring her, chasing her, replacing her, or doing anything else for that matter.

But, by their own definition, I guess that you could say a girl becomes a woman when she hits 30. That's more or less when she realizes that she won't be pretty and fertile forever and needs to find someone quickly, or end up becoming the cat lady.

In social interactions, I personally prefer using girl rather than woman. If she's a young, cute, submissive girl, she'll take it as a compliment. If she's an older, jaded woman, she'll find it belittling and incredibly insulting, which is hilarious.
