For the past 5-6 months I've been seeing this girl. In the beginning I said I'm not interested in a serious relationship but we can have fun as friends. She accepted and we hung out regularly. Every time we hung out, we fucked or if she was on her period she gave me blowjobs aplenty. The relationship was very sexual.

After a recent sleepover she texts me with a long ultimatum about how she's developed deep feelings and can no longer just be a friend, but wants to be together with me. She says I'm perfect yaddayadda and that since I don't want a relationship she's ending the friendship, even though it will hurt.

I'm still not interested in a relationship with her, so I'm glad she ended it, she was getting boring and a lot of her attributes were starting to annoy me. I would be lying though if I said there wasn't a low level oneitis going on. I guess its inevitable on some level when you fuck the same woman only for 6 months.

My question is what is generally the best way to approach responding to this text? She sent it yesterday around 7pm but I was out with friends so did not respond. I got in late so I ended up not responding at all yesterday. I wake up today to another text from her saying "We can be friends but no sex stuff..".

My objective here is to cause her the least amount of pain. On a low level the thought of never seeing her again does sadden me a but (loss of only current source of sex I assume). However I've been slacking on the self improvement side the last few months and recognize this as an opportunity for serious monk mode, and with her not in the picture I can redouble my efforts. In truth I should have not even been looking at girls until my financial, mental and physical areas were drastically improved.

I can see three options right now:

  1. Ghost: Like I did unintentionally yesterday, just simply not respond. Her hamster will spin "What? No response?" but perhaps this may be the best way to let her down gently.

  2. Respond short: A short, one or two sentence response that acknowledges her position and wishes her the best.

  3. Respond long: What my first action wsa going to be, a huge diatribe of "you're a great girl", "I hope you get your life in order and find happiness" yadda yadda.
