TL:DR Correct, looks don't matter as much as confidence, but some folks have to pay their dues to develop confidence.

And not every one is you. My guess is that somebody like you has probably had good inner game and confidence for quite a while. Not everyone has that. This subreddit tells people to lift and dress better because those are the these easiest things things to control. Doing those things consistently leads to improvement in other areas (cultivating interesting hobbies & sticking with them, telling better stories, traveling, working on $$, etc...)

This may help folks get their inner game (confidence) eventually set for life and eventually their looks don't matter.

You may have paid your dues in your own way, but not everyone has.

Everyone here is coming in with varying levels of confidence. Folks at the bottom have to pay their dues and get themselves on a successful path before their looks stop mattering.

/end rant.
