My favorite one:

Basically like you, OP. Why did he feed me a bunch of pc bullshit. So many years lost, feels like I'll forever be playing catch-up with my peers.

Specifically, both my parents truly messed up my outlook on relationships and dating. I was never the kid that defiantly did what he was told not to do. My pattern was just to accept it and never bother with that thing again. Unfortunately I was content with that, which severely restricted my life.

Not okay to have fun with firecrackers? Well, there goes my neighbour friends. Fill time up with video games, alone.

Not okay to mess around with motors and dirt bikes? Whelp, there goes most of my classmates. Fill up time with video games.

Not allowed to lift weights until I'm 16? Well then, fuck exercise. Fill time with video games. And they wonder why I'm isolated. Pfft. Did pick up weight lifting as an adult though. They still don't approve...

There was/is the theory that lifting stuns growth, so dad was trying to protect this guy from being a shorty. 16 is a good age to start. You are getting your hormones at that age. That guy is being bitchy.

I feel like many of our fathers were duped by the feminist agenda hype themselves, which is why they were reluctant to give us their seemingly "old school advice." Or even if they didn't believe the hype, would they be excited and determined to teach their sons values that could quite possibly be considered sexist in the near future? I don't think so.

A generation of men abandoned by fathers.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
