These hypocrites you are referring to preach but do not act because giving advice makes them feel important without having to do the hard work of following through.

Dale Carnegie said in "How to Win Friends and Influence People" that the greatest human drive, save for basic survival, is to feel important, yet humans are and always have been creatures seeking the greatest amount of x for the least amount of y (typically work). In a society where many can hide the truth behind deadbolt locks and their faces behind screens, where those striving to improve are ridiculed and the great figures of our time are blasted for having anything but a bland, happy personality, coupled with the mass betafication of the common youth, it becomes easy, satisfying, and ego-boosting to appear a guru to others in public while enacting none of your own advice. "After all", the subconscious whispers, "they came to you for advice, you're already better than them."

This is where TRP differs; we, on the whole, applaud efforts to improve ourselves, blast excuses, honor the great men (and women, though the truly great are few and far in-between) of our time, and do not allow false, seductive advice such as that you listed to be repeated endlessly. What you read is typically what works, and often its brutal honesty is to bitter for those who like to think themselves an eternal underdog or undiscovered gem.

I'll admit it; I'm typing this because, to some degree, my giving an input, no matter how insignificant the action is, makes me feel important, while I can log off Reddit and then do nothing for the rest of the day, while my comment, should it be well-recieved, makes me appear wise and knowledgeable. I will then try and exclude myself from what I just told you and, should I allow it to happen, become the ego-feeding hypocrite we both equally detest.

In short, it does help keep the weak in their place, and it can happen to us-it could happen to me, it could happen to you- if we allow ourselves the same sedation of thought.

This is definitely true of HuffPo journalists who rant against predatory male sexuality before rushing to Chad's house for some alpha validation. However, those other examples really got me thinking about how many of society's rules are meant to keep people under control, and if you want to be great man, you must break them.

Such maxims and practices are a subconscious escape from reality. These are nothing more than simplifications in people's head used to create an ideal yet sheep-like view of how the world ought to be. If it seems like everyone's a sheep you can bet another sheep, or wolf in sheep's clothing, is directing a chorus of "baas."

In the case of women, I don't think it's conscious, but this certainly is how it plays out in real life. This is the root cause of the 'friendzone neckbeard' trope you hear about on reddit so often. These women tell guys how they want a nice beta guy, and this guy IS a nice beta guy, so he spends his whole life orbiting and never understanding why the woman rejects his advances (if he even makes any).

the government/the rich dont want competitors for their money/power.

the entire school system is designed to take away confidence and ambition. its pure indoctrination from day 1 until the day you stop watching TV. you gotta undo that shit the government teaches, and create your own reality.
