So I was at am adult valentine's day party last night and the hosting couple had an old boardgame of the Newlywed Game.

One Question all the wives were asked was:

Has your husband been acting more like a woman or have you been acting more like a man?

Yes, a trick question, as there might not be a right answer. (What if she has been acting like a woman and you have been acting like a man? that was not a choice).

Well my wife's answer surprised me. She said that I had been acting more like a woman. When she saw my look of shock, she quickly defended herself, "Well what did you want me to say? I have not been acting like a man! and, well, you have been acting more like a woman by buying me all this stuff and the love notes for Valentine's day...."

So, good note to self to dial back the comfort. and of course, a stiff slap across the face that I am slipping. I need to review my MAP, strengthen my frame, and talk a hell of a lot less. It is all on me.

But what was also interesting was the rest of the couples. 8 out of 10 had the answer that the man was acting more like a woman. And the men responded with laughter and agreement. One even said, "Oh you know me, that is always me!"

The round of that question sobered me up -- a good reminder to not fall into the complacency of suburbia.
