Should my wife know I read NMMNG as Glover suggests?

Reddit View
November 2, 2017

Hi guys! Glover repeats it is important to let your partner know what is happening and suggests to let her read it too. Which is contradicting the general rule here that you should not share red pill material with your wife. Any thoughts on that for a newbie?

The first rule is you don't talk about fight club. The second rule is you DON'T TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!

Talking to your wife about it is validating behavior, and lowers attraction. "Gee honey, I'm reading this book and am not going to be a nice guy anymore. Isn't it swell?"

Don't. Just don't.

Gee honey, I'm reading this book and am not going to be a nice guy anymore. Isn't it swell?

Would pay money to watch a newb say that expecting something positive to come from it.

OP: "Hi-diddly-hey, wife-ourino, no more Mr. Nice Guy for me! I'm going to be unpre-diddly-ictable!"

Wife: "Okily-dokily!"

Next post on AskMRP...

OP: "Son of a diddily!"

NMMNG has an undercurrent of blue.

Brilliant book, it legit changed my life, but he fucks up in a few ways that don't quite align with MRP.

Good question... shows you're working and thinking.

First Rule of fight Club... StfU.

This question gets asked routinely. Maybe there should be a quick reference guide in the sidebar on suggested differences between literature and MRP common belief

As the saying goes, nobody wants to see how the sausage is made.

This has been debated several times and the overwhelming opinion- including in the NMMNG Blog- is that Glover got this wrong and it is counterproductive to tell your wife what you are reading and why.

[–]InChargeManRed Beret4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy

You should tell her all about it.

Also, as you go through the stages of dread you should keep track of your progress and send her weekly email updates. Nothing too extreme, just what level you are on, what changes you are doing, how you are a better man now, etc.

Whatever it is I'm reading, I'm reading it for me, not my wife.

If she asks, I answer as it isn't some fucking secret.

With that said, I don't volunteer nor do I go too in depth.

[–]dcapt460 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

This is the one. Don't hide it like you are getting caught with some secret. Do Not Give a Fuck what she thinks of what you are reading. If she asks for more details you can say "it is an interesting look at how some men have lost their focus on a purpose in modern life" or some other thing that should lose her interest. But yet it is true.

[–]screechhaterRed Beret2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Best not. Also, cut to the chase. You got others books to read.

Honestly, she wants a masculine man that takes care of himself with a slight aura of mystery. And, since she's not rabbi or pastor keep your mouth shut

Seriously key into, "she is your mate, not your best friend" you guys should be fucking, talking is obviously part of the relationship, but being her emotional tampon is not your role.

Don't get "friend zoned" in your marraige

I was afraid to buy it on my kindle account because she would see it. Once I finally did it, I was deathly afraid that my wife would read it and find out just what weak, dishonest loser I really was. My therapist pointed out that she didn't need to read the book to already know that.

I've learned that I can read anything. If she asks what I'm reading, I say something along the lines of it's good book but it has some things in it that I don't agree with. I don't hide any of the books and she's free to read the if she wants. Our shared kindle account has all kinds of Red Pill titles in it. I think the only one I purchased on a different kindle account was "Saving a Low Sex Marriage".

No. It will bump "red pill on hard mode" into nightmare mode.

[–]captain_my_captain221 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

ABSOLUTELY! I've been playing on 'nightmare' mode for over 12 months now. Don't do it.

Can someone put in the sidebar the stuff that people need to ignore in these books?

[–]RPWolfAlpha_as_Wolf_2.01 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

I mad the mistake of doing this and also including her in some of the exercises in the book like the 90 days of no initiation shit. While I wont completely dismiss the 90 days of no initiation and porn. That did help me break a bad cycle, telling my wife about any of it was the mistake.

If your wife thinks you need to read a book to be a better man then it will just add to the disdain shit heap she already has for you.

Plus, we don't talk about Fight Club!!

I dont ask the butcher how the steak is made, I just want the steak.

Women dont want to know how a man is made, they just want a man.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
