Was going to post this on the main sub but since it's a question I put it here and thought it might spark some debate.

Recently another woman came out and accused Justin Fairfax and another Duke basketball player of assaulting her. Twenty years ago. Now, apparently this was corroborated by her friends at the time, and she went to the Dean but nothing was done.

We've seen dozens of #metoo allegations that can't possibly be proven that are ruining lives and careers, even if the alleged incidents happened over ten years ago.

Is it right that women can come forward twenty years later and ruin a man's life with allegations? Or should we be able to as a society basically say you should have spoken up even five years later if you thought it was a problem?
