OP is asking how to play the age old good 'ol "game of the schoolyard" this game is ever prevalent - "prison is high school mentality with deadly consequences", and noam chomsky learned much about imperialism by " watching bullies in the schoolyard"

48 laws is a good recommendation, but it is more theoretical, a guide with practical, example scenarios would be cool as fuck.

I can say go out and live in the world, hang out with all sorts of people. talk to the bros at the gym..... go play basketball with strangers at a "hood" inner city park on the weekend...... chat with cops .......observe and spend time with the dominant men. whether you like it or not some of their way of being will rub off on you..... moreso if you actively seek to follow their ways or ask for their council..... think of when other have dominated you.... do the same sh*t on others...

Agree you don’t need a book you can get experience for free. Just go into sales and see how it all works if you’d like

The key factor here is your own psychology.

While latinasonly is correct that exposure to well adjusted men can rub off, it is not necessarilyl the fastest method.
Perhaps the best work on this is No More Mr. Nice Guy by Robert A. Glover.

This book is essentially "assertiveness training". You need to look very carefully at your need to please other people, your urge to put their needs ahead of your own, and at how your empathy leads you to be weak from neglecting what you want.

Once an assertive attitude is in place, the words and actions will come out of you automatically - you won't need to strategize and pre-plan various strategies.

Also note that I suggest assertiveness, not "domination". There is no need for psychopathy, for unfairly or unjustly promoting your own interests. That is going too far.

Strive for something between "weak tit" and "asshole", where instead you take no shit from anyone, but also don't fuck with people who don't deserve it either.
Here, I actually think about the youtubes of Terrence Popp.
He did everything he could to take care of his own troops, he intervened on behalf of contractors were left exposed to enemy fire with no cover and forced battalion HQ to erect sandbags, he tried to be fair at all times.
He also sunk careers of incompetent and malicious officers and non-comms, unleashed viscous pranks on people who fucked with him, gamed the system and skirted or outright broke rules when they were stupid or dangerous.
That is the sort of Alpha you want to be - not a mean asshole, but someone who will unleash the fury when it is deserved.
(Caveat: Popp is MGTOW, so you can ignore that portion of his content if you wish.)

You can be assertive and still be moral.

If you see that clearly, and how you are not that way now, you are 2/3 of the way there!

I got on my pc and iPhone I’m gonna note in groups things I should do first priority Like Talk less say less

it's not about saying less, it's being specific and cutting out all the junk in your conversation. create value etc

p.s if you want something to go with your learning, check voices in the dark as they do a podcast based on the 48 laws of power and can be good having alternative source to study why these laws work/how they work etc

Im sure there must be better books for this purpose, OP isn't a medieval Prince.

[–]BusterVadge5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy

While the book is full of historical references, basic human nature hasn't changed. In fact, that's why we're here; because we believe that basic human nature (AWALT, briffault's law, etc) hold true despite what groups of people in modern society try to promote.

I was about to say the same thing.

This is another good one that I don't see mentioned here that often.

48 laws of power, but I like his new book more laws of human nature. It reads better.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

I know we've all heard of it before. I know it. But "How to Win Friends and Influence People" is potent for social engineering. It is concise and it works. Post Script -- far better than "The Seven Habits....," that book is platitudes.
