Had this happen to me, blond girl at work probably a 6.5 (good bod, not so good looking) totally friend zoned me for like 18 months.

I took my new blond girlfriend to the works christmas party (I eventually ended up marrying her - I'm an idiot), HB9 - gorgeous model like looks, fantastic figure, more intelligent and charming than girl at work...

When I went to the bathroom she followed me out and cornered me "oh we could have been so much more than friends, we could have something special, etc, etc" and tried coming onto me.

Unbelievable how they operate.

[–]Strikingable40 points41 points  (40 children) | Copy

Why are you an idiot for marrying her? :'D If thats what you wanted, and would eventually like to have kids, there is not really another way around. Just be the highest value male in her life and everythings gon be fine

[–]hmsthinkingmeat89 points90 points  (18 children) | Copy

Because 50% of marriages fail, and mine was one of them?

It wasn't the marrying that was a bad thing, it was the divorcing, and the realisation in between that she wasn't a unicorn and having to put up with all of her crazy shit that she put me through.

Remember that the hotter the girl, the more she's going to get hit on, and when she's getting hit on practially every day she's eventually going to meet someone who presses her buttons more than you do, whether you're Chad Pitt and no matter how you act.

In hindsight I think I did well to get 20 years out of her - at least I had her in her youth, her new men are getting a 45 year old, post 2 kids, saggy, wrinkly heading-for-being-an-old-lady who has serious personality disorder issues, and who is now spending her time going out clubbing and trying to act like a 20 year old.

They're welcome to her - I'm out trying to get an actual 20 year old instead lol - I've managed a 24 year old so far (I'm 49 yo and yes she had daddy issues, but I'm not looking for long lasting here).

And I'll never get married again, or probably even co-habit.

50% of marriages fail

50% end in divorce, but many of the ones that don't still fail...

Imagine being (feeling) stuck in a marriage. Consider yourself lucky, I suppose.

[–]hmsthinkingmeat40 points41 points  (6 children) | Copy

Yes probably over 50% don't work.

As Bill Burr puts it - suppose someone gives you a parachute and asks you to jump out of a plane, then tells you that one in every 2 parachutes are faulty and don't work - are you going to jump out the plane?

[–]Techn0371225 points26 points  (3 children) | Copy

Bill Burr’s wise words of wisdom are underrated af. He’s not a comedian, he’s a philosopher.

I'm pretty sure being single results in death too ..

how does it feel dating someone half your age? dont you feel an insane amount of leverage simply due to the maturity difference?

[–]hmsthinkingmeat4 points5 points  (2 children) | Copy

You just realise how utterly immature they are and how little they know about anything.

Not just life experience, but anything - it's very difficult to have a grown up conversation because they don't actually know anything about anything, apart from what they've been taught is "true" - very superficial. [this is an observation of talking to and listening to her friends too. E.g. one of them was banging on about this amazing super cool Japanese lager and I asked if she'd tried Sake - "what's Sake?". Me - "it's rice wine". Her - "oh no I don't really drink wine".]

Anyway I knew she had daddy issues when one of the first things out of her mouth was "I don't have daddy issues", so I didn't plan on hanging around for long.

[–]death-loves-time0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

simple way to put it, i guess in a world where you dont really need to know much besides how to spread them properly, you get shit like that.

was the sex any good with someone you couldn't hold a conversation with?

whether or not she has daddy issues or not, depends on whether its socially acceptable to have it or not. /s

[–]Skyhawk_And_Skyhead1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

Honestly I've not seen much difference between an 18 and 40 year old woman in maturity.

[–]death-loves-time0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Why are you an idiot for marrying her?

Because marriage is a fucking stupid idea.

:'D If thats what you wanted, and would eventually like to have kids, there is not really another way around.

No other way.... except perhaps.... NOT MARRYING HER

Just be the highest value male in her life and everythings gon be fine

And when you're not.... or when she's bored?

Marriage provides a financial incentive for women to leave, not to stay. You're paying her to leave.

Don't incentivize the mother of your children to leave you. Don't offer her cash, prizes and alimony to break up your family. Don't marry her.

[–]Senior EndorsedMattyAnon12 points13 points  (0 children) | Copy

Marriage = failure of male strategy, and you'll be treated accordingly.

[–]urbanfoh6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

Bs. If you play russian roulette and happen to survive it was still a stupid idea

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime5 points6 points  (1 child) | Copy

It almost always fails, whether in divorce or you being treated like a doormat.

[–]ILikeToBurnMoney6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

Agreed, which is why I would never marry, unless the positives outweigh the negatives. These positives would be for example marrying into a rich and/or highly influential family or into nobility.

[–]tallwheel0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

In other words, marriage is a bad idea. You never know beforehand whether it will fail or not, and most do... even if they never actually divorce.

[–]wholewheatdirtydog2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Wholesome stuff guys

[–]beginner_4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy

I can have kids and not marry as a starter. Marriage is always a bad decision because there is no reason to do so while having a huge list of negative aspects.

[–]tallwheel1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Having kids with someone is more dangerous than marrying, really. I would probably rather be married with no kids than unmarried with kids. You stand to lose the most when breaking with a woman you have kids with. And... it is much harder to make a clean break with someone who is the mother of your children.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children) | Copy

You can have kids without marriage.

[–]Hyper_Sonik9 points10 points  (4 children) | Copy

You can have kids without marriage and still be taken to the cleaners while barely if at all seeing your kids. There's plenty of horror stories out there.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children) | Copy

Sure. Kids are always a risk.

Why increase that risk with marriage?

[–]Hyper_Sonik1 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy

Any man getting married in 2019 is cringe and deserves what he gets. Even cohabiting with a woman is just as bad.

[–]j_arbuckle20124 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy

Cohabitation is marriage. It's the act of living in the marriage.

Cohabiting couples are married. That's what trips them up. Thqt's why those relationships fail. These kids live together, then don't take marriage seriously and viola, it fails.

Never, never, get into a relationship with a woman that has lived with one of her exes. She's got a failed marriage on the books.

[–]p3n1x0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

False.

[–]Nicolas0631104 points105 points  (13 children) | Copy

When you think of it this is common psychology. People always care more of what they can't have or have been denied than what they have or think they could have without effort.

Before you where worthless and a given. Maybe you were kind and typically considered as an orbiter. Just a random man she seduced without effort and was bowing to her and kept free only because he was not worth it.

But actually you shown her she was wrong, very wrong. You got an obviously better woman so she has to prove she can actually take you back. she has to prove her own value to herself.

[–]chadwickofwv17 points18 points  (5 children) | Copy

It's only common psychology because psychology focuses almost exclusively on women.

[–]I_Dont_Type32 points33 points  (3 children) | Copy

Men have this feeling of jealousy too though, only they don't have it as extreme as women.

[–]g0dfather9312 points13 points  (2 children) | Copy

Yeah I have had guys talk, you know, "Man I should have got it going with her while she was single and giving me hints" quite a few times. But I have never seen a guy just dissolve and visibly grovel with urgency, making it his sole focus to prove his worth if he finds himself in such a situation. He will be torn and his self respect will have taken a beating, but he'll not lose his shit and act on it. Bitch about it with the boys and forget that shit is the general course of action taken.

[–]greenlittleman0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

When guys say this they regret being indecisive, not changing their evaluation of a woman. For us sexual attractiveness of a woman is purely physical aspect. For them other than physical it is emotional aspect which is even more important. This is why she could go from friendzoning a guy to trying seducing him just because of learning something new about it.

[–]I_Dont_Type0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

That's true. For women it's more than jealousy, it's an entire reevaluation.

[–]AttentionDenail18 points19 points  (0 children) | Copy

Hey man,

you are wrong. As a scientific field psychology works (like every other field) with double blind random selected groups of tests subjects. Therefore the focus is not on women, but on the human as a whole. Please do not make claims like this. Its making TRP looking like a bunch of women hating idiots

Lmao so true. Back in my beta days, I used to contemplate about leaving my then girlfriend and even tried it several times without actually following through ( I said it loudly that I have been thinking about taking a break etc.) and even then she started doing this. Thank god I finally left her ass and the attention afterwards was even greater, since imho her looks had already started detoriating at 21 and I knew for sure she had ridden the cc heavily before me.

[–]__uwotm8__19 points20 points  (0 children) | Copy

Only time I flat out rejected a girl was on a Tinder date. She was hot and friendly and clearly DTF (a tourist, of course she is), but her breath stunk and it was a huge turn off, couldn’t get myself to even kiss her. I bailed after finishing my drink and wished her a good night. She was like “really?!” and looked totally pissed off. She was 100% certain she was going home with me. Lmao, I’ll never forget that face.

It’s not that they want what they can’t have. Would they want some neckbeard video game master who’s vowed to keep his virginity for life? No.

Girls want valuable men. But it’s hard to gauge how valuable a man is, since there’s numerous aspects involved that are mental, physical, social, etc.

The girl assumed OP was low value and didn’t want him. It wouldn’t be worth the time/effort for her to pursue him and find his true actual value... he doesn’t seem like a good prospect.

But then OP shows up with a model girlfriend. This is a very concrete indicator that OP really was high value all along... a diamond in the rough.

The girl then realizes she totally underestimated his true value, and then goes rushing to him to try and claim the high value man.

Girls are attracted to indicators of value in a man. Looks, money, personality, social dominance, are more direct indicators. Social proof, interest from other girls, large social media presense, are more speculative indicators of value.

[–]hmsthinkingmeat9 points10 points  (1 child) | Copy

Girls want valuable men. But it’s hard to gauge how valuable a man is, since there’s numerous aspects involved that are mental, physical, social, etc.

This is absolutely right, people gauge value through comparison (there's a brilliant video by Dan Ariely on youtube exploring this very topic and how a simple change in variables produces a totally different outcome of choice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOhb4LwAaJk).

It's like if you run a bar and are shopping for some new glasses, and I put a glass in front of you and tell you it's $1 - how do you know if it's good value or not?

If I put another 2 glasses beside it with different shapes, complexities, and price points it allows you to decide which offers the best value.

I think women judging the value of a man operate in the same way - one ex once got me to come and meet her "friend" from college (a dude) and I'm sure it was so she could compare us side by side.

So when you turn up with another girl, and especially if that girl is hotter than the one who friendzoned you, it now implies you have a much higher value - they can gauge your value better by comparing what you have to themselves.

If that makes sense.

When I go clubbing with just my boys we have to open girls as normal.

When I bring girlfriend along girls actually start to open me whenever she leaves (bathroom break, get water etc)

[–]tchower18 points19 points  (0 children) | Copy

Oh snap! I just figured out why all these guys are bringing their girlfriends to the club! It made no sense to me before because I’d always accidentally be hitting on girls who had a boyfriend, or sometimes girls with boyfriends would come up to me and hit on me hard trying to make out with me, and then their boyfriend would be in my face, and I’m like “don’t take your bitch to the club then bro!” Now I know in the future to just laugh this off and tell them “my bad bro, lots of bitches here”.

"it's fucking hot that you had sex with other girls"

This one sentence is pretty much all you really need. Says it all.

[–]EdmondDaunts20 points21 points  (0 children) | Copy

It’s not the man. It’s the status of the girlfriend. The LBJF projects herself onto the girlfriend and comes up short. Women don’t think about men as men, just as a compliment to or a reflection of their own feelings about their status. After all they are masters in solipsism.

So yes when she is triggered by the change in situation of the man it really is about her change of situation. That her perception of the situation is wrong. Women show the same crazy behaviour in sales when someone (especially hotter than them) looks at an item of clothing they passed over.

And to be fair it is a great evolutionary mechanism. She is always closing. And will do anything to get that edge.

But make no mistake, a man is the catalyst not the subject.

[–]Razkolol8 points9 points  (3 children) | Copy

Women go through most of their life w/o ever experiencing rejection. Their ego is so high that they can’t even rationalize rejection. When you bring them down to earth it destroys their frame. They will try anything and everything to keep their ego intact because rejection to them from a biological standpoint makes them completely worthless to the world. If a high value man doesn’t want to fuck her she doesn’t bring anything of value to the world. By contrast if a women doesn’t want to fuck you you can still contribute/gather resources/build an empire that other chicks will want to be a part of. Those defense mechanisms described in the article are there to protect their ego, being rejected by an alpha leaves them scared, having a guy orbit them and seeing him transform into a man of value tells them that they failed from a biological standpoint > hamster tries to rationalize that they haven’t to prevent negative feelings.

[–]death-loves-time2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy

fun way to prove this irl,
hot chicks walking down the street about to intercept you? look straight ahead, look like you didn't even acknowledge their existence, and watch in your peripheral as they turn their head back to check that you really just ignored/ not check them out/ waited to do so until you passed by

work like 85% of the time its insane, even if theyre with thier SO

In my experience a HB9+ with a scrubᵈᶦˢᶜˡᵃᶦᵐᵉʳ (<$10/hr job, crashing at a friends, carless etc) will make nearly all females at a get-together more attracted to said scrub than their own S.O.'s whether they are CEOs, business owners, Doctors, Lawyers etc.

That feeling of being desired by nearly all females at a get-together is worth more than all the money I have made, swindled, and won, combined.

Edit- disclaimer-- at the time I was pretending to be a scrub, I was jobless, but I was living off an inheritance. I was carless (totalled it) couch surfing (testing friends' limit/loyalty).

Your SMV will never be 9+ if you are a loser. If this is true you are an idiot going against all TRP advice and experience and so are all of your upvoters.

[–]THEdirtyDotterFUCKr9 points10 points  (2 children) | Copy

SMV is not only tied to accomplishments, physique et al. if you are on top of your game, you can walk into a bar and "forgot you wallet at home" and still pick up women. Inversely you can be Doctor/Lawyer making 7 figures a year and still couldn't pick up a two dollar whore with a fistful of hundreds.

The particular instance I illustrated was based on referral sex. At the time I was living off an inheritance and gauging friends' loyalty by crashing on their couch (at the time only I knew I had money).

But you are correct, you cannot be a pothead loser and expect to game females for long, if at all.

[–]moltenw1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

what does crashing at friends houses have to do with their loyality?

You might test how far they are willing to go to help you, but that's got nothing to do with loyality. I for one would likely never take any of my friends in unless it was very temporary and badly needed.

Tale as old as time. "Gotta have women to get women". Sounds like a paradox almost.

You need to at least have the appearance that you're getting women to have a shot at getting with hot girls. Obviously that in-person proof like in the title is the pinnacle.
