For as smart as we make doctors out to be, he was so stupid. She was literally telling him to get his fat ass in gear and he just wouldn't listen. I suppose he thought the prestige of being a doctor (our on the road to being one) alone would be sufficient to keep her around, by why would you want to keep around a woman who openly disrespects you?

I don't think she'll kick herself over this. He was never going to be this fit as long as she was with him. She probably made the right choice, and found someone a few notches higher than he was when she left him, and would still be if it hadn't been for her rejection.

I'm surprised that nobody else has commented on the current reality we men face, where we're now expected to look like fitness models or bodybuilders, to be considered attractive. If you look at sports stars, actors and models compared to how they looked a few decades ago, the difference is enormous. Whereas, although women have toned up slightly in those intervening years, a woman who looks like Sofia Loren is still worshiped today as much as 50 years ago. For us men, the standards have gone through the roof. Would a young Sean Connery still be considered the epitome of alpha nowadays?

I had a red-pill outlook in high school on things (outside of dating).

One time in my guitar class, some kid was making fun of me because I wasn't good at guitar (I had just started playing and could really only do basic chords). He took the guitar and showed me up while name-calling me and stuff.

Most people would call this kid a "bully".. However I did not see him as having any force over me, I just thought of him as purely a dickhead.

After school that day, I went home and played my guitar for 6 hours straight. I did this for most of high school. By the time I was a senior I had started my first band, we recorded a demo and started playing locally. In college we did some touring, signed to a small indie label, and recorded an LP.

Just a few months ago, all of us were in town (we all live all over the US now, so our band is no longer together). We played a gig at a local club and the show sold out with 300+ attendees. Everyone in town knows of our band, I get approached by strangers every now and then who recognize me from being in the band.

I don't think that kid who made fun of me picked up his guitar after freshman year of high school; in fact I don't even remember his name. If you look at this incident through the redpill lens, you are offered a challenge. In the blue pill lens, you are "bullied" and a victim.
