Last night's episode of The Daily Show had a segment featuring Jessica Williams where she demonstrated the severe struggle women face everyday simply walking down the street.

Just listen to the terrible statements women have to endure whenever walking around men. Some great examples:

"Hola, how are you doing?" "You have nice hair"

About twenty women also show up in the segment so they can describe their equally traumatic experiences. Some of these women claim that simply making eye contact with them when walking by is sexual assault. Hear that guys? We now have to beware of ocular rape.

I'm normally a big fan of The Daily Show, but when it comes to topics on sex the show tends to do a lot of hamstering. This segment is more ridiculous than the Fox News segments the show makes fun of on a daily basis.

Guess what ladies? If you're walking in public (especially a busy city street), expect unwanted encounters. Everyone has to deal with these annoyances, such as being asked for money by some bum or having some aspiring artist trying to hand you a free shitty CD. What should you do in unwanted situations like this? Stop playing the victim, take responsibility for yourself, and ignore them.

When it comes to getting actual compliments or something as simple as an indicator of attraction, accept it and move on. I've been complimented on my hair and clothing by random women on the street and if anything it's flattering, not something that ruins your day.

I simply can't understand the rationale of these women and people who always want to play the victim.
