I have a different perspective on this.

Dating < 7's:

  1. If she rejects you, it's gonna mess with your head/confidence; it could put some into a depression (or make a man upset even if they pretend they aren't).
  2. It's good practice, but say you do well; now they might stick to you like glue and that's when things can get dangerous especially if they are insane (and quite a few people hide it well and act life as "highly-functioning" crazies).
  3. If it's NOT getting your dick wet and you're not attracted to her and you have no long-term plans with her: well at this point, she's not getting a good deal at all and you aren't either because you're just kind of forcing it via hormonal instinct but you may not even be having that much fun and wasting a lot of time, energy, resources to this.
  4. If you're not struggling to get 7+, then you aren't really challenging yourself, you've become a whale-humper, a bag-piper (you're piping with the bag over their head). How can you hear any good feedback from women and know what to improve about yourself, if all you ever do is go for the easy-mode 5s and 6s? BE the man that attractive women want to date, and DATE the women that MATCH your SMV that you are doing so from an objective, logical, rather than emotional basis. ATTRACTION IS RELATIVE: you have to date in your league, or a little above. Many men will settle, and that's okay too, but don't get stuck in a bad relationship (same rule applies for women; women constantly pick undeserving or crappy men; or men who are attractive but offer nothing else).
  5. If you ARE going to date <7 (especially if you are in your 20s and want to get some practice; then YES), make sure there's a good reason for it: (a) they are smart, hold great conversation, they interest you, they have common interests, they're fun to hang out with (you're having fun with them) (b) they are actually providing you with something other than just a vag (c) they are wonderful girls who deserve it. Good things should be earned, don't let the struggle get you frustrated and make you settle unless you are happy with what you settle with (don't resent someone because you got stuck with them---a common problem women commit to).

I guess what I'm saying is life should be about improvement. And if you think dating a 5 is worth it in order to improve, that's one thing, but otherwise, should probably avoid it. Don't date/plate people in a way that can backfire and hurt you.

A wild animal picks fights all the time especially when hunting; but some fights are not worth fighting and relations with women are like that. One wild animal may avoid a fight if it thinks an injury is even lightly possible because once injured, you can't hunt for food. That is why many animals check to see if you're going to run away first; a sign of weakness. Similarly, you don't want to get stuck with a bad woman that can harm you in various ways; check for signs that they aren't crazy (red flags).

Man I feel like some people here still don't get past the basics. You will always get the most attention from girls one or two points below your SMV. You might get an outlier that will still find you attractive although you're below her, maybe because she likes your type or frame. That almost always happens during daygame and never on Tinder where these scales are inflated.

That simply means if you're a 5 you will have to fuck these girls. If you're a 7 you may for comfort reason but if you're a buff holywood star you probably don't have to.

I always give a girl a 1 or 2 point leeway if her personality is cool or it can be assumed she is into some BDSM.

Exactly right. EXPERIENCES may vary among different men (you know sometimes you encounter 7, 8, 9 and they treat you well but maybe encounter a 5 or 6 that rejects you)--however, those are outliers. You WILL encounter outliers. You will however, more likely encounter the general rule: 1-3 points below your SMV.

That's why self-improvement is big in TRP. You have to become the man that a hot woman wants to date. You have to actually imagine yourself as a hot women (with the amount of attention they get) and think about whether they would date you and how that "storyline" would occur.

If you only go out to bars, clubs, and tinder where attractiveness reigns supreme, you will likely have to date way below your SMV. If you meet them at work or exclusive club or hobby or daygame--more likely to be closer to your SMV.

Women date in terms of power, status, and SMV level. That's why celebrities date celebrities. That's why you hear of crazy fairytale like stories that are very real like "oh these two met at work and they are now married with kids happily" because girls like to date someone that is nearly equivalent or better than themselves.

If you're picking up chicks from a dive-bar or club and then you wonder why you're having a lot of one-night stands or no success because all the girls are in bitchy-defense-mode, you should know why. Don't assume it MUST happen that you date above your league (chances are you won't); but you can still try for practice and it's recommend you try.

I don't think so. I am pretty strict when I rate people aesthetically. I am pretty active on TrueRateMe, the objective rating subreddit, but I do adjust from PSL scale to "slightly harsh" normal scale. Because PSL scale 9s are pretty much people nobody here will ever bang because there's maybe ten of them in the world. 5s and 6s are harder to game than 8s in my humble opinion. 7s are typically the most difficult because they tend to get the most attention as they're above average attractiveness but not so attractive that the average bloke will rule himself out. As a result they tend to get more attention than 8s and 9s do and it inflates their egos to crazy levels.

My advice? Just game whatever chick is nearby and not ugly. It's easier to engage the DGAF attitude when you're genuinely just choosing based on proximity. It's also very good for abundance mentality.

Of course, environment plays a big role in this too. If a 7 is the only woman in her social circle,office, etc. that isn’t beat, you can bet she thinks she’s the shit. Flip side is that if they’re around more attractive women consistently, they feel insecure and it becomes easier because they want in on the action. My main point is that 8+’s are not easier to game if you include the minimum threshold to be noticed by them. I have ugly friends who have great game, better than mine in some cases. Definitely dependent on how you carry it. If you’re handsome and fit, it should not be an issue at all. You won’t really get the benefit of being considered a tall guy, I’m 6’2 and I sort of ride that line. I’d really say 5’11 is neither a big gain or loss, really dependent on other factors. It’s technically above average so there is that.

I’m 5’11, 9% body fat at 160. A little on the lighter side, yes. But I’m ripped and I have a v shape, I have wide shoulders. Ideally I would like to build up to 175-180 and hit 8%. But that’s gonna take me a few years to build mature muscle and maintain a low body fat percentgae.

I know 200 pounds isn't a ton. It's enough where I clearly lift but that's about it. Disclaimer I do have a good face--if you know what PSL rating is, I'm a 6. A PSL 6 is equivalent to a normal scale 7.5 or so, if you're unfamiliar. If I looked average I am sure my results would be different.

Anyways I made a recent TRP post if you look at my post history and want a full story. But here's a brief summary.

Lately I've mostly been doing a combination of tinder, game in my classes, and gaming girls at night with my main girl. On Tinder I have good photos and a good face, so girls are interested in me and can't see my height. I also have photos where I look deceptively big (muscle wise), which definitely compensates. My hottest bang lately was Tinder, and she was a smokeshow.

In class, I just contribute decently frequently in a funny but serious way (as in--I'm not a class clown at all and teachers appreciate my enthusiasm, but I am also funny). Girls see this and will start talking to me because I am approachable, and I then # close and maybe study with them once then invite them directly over because their interest is high by then. I do not approach girls in class--I am just in a major with a lot of girls and put myself in position for them to talk to me.

And as for going out with my main girl who I've had for a long time to pick up girls, that's a work in progress. I kind of let her do most of the 'work' and when they seem like they like her, we bring them somewhere we can talk. She'll DHV me beforehand. Then we'll make the conversations sexual and suddenly I look like I am really, really experienced and confident and also have a HB8 as pre-selection who will go home with me if the other girl won't and she knows that. I pulled a HB8 two weekends ago doing this, and last weekend I almost pulled another but my main girl got too drunk and scared off the other girl before we could start closing. As a disclaimer, I wouldn't recommend trying to game exactly as I do. I definitely benefit from being in a big college and in a fraternity there and encountering lots of women. False. Status trumps all. Remember to incorporate all of the factors involved in male attractiveness. I've always viewed game as a sort of way to alter your SMV. That's one of the things, when that alters things and you're dealing with a girl who doesn't get approached much or gets fawned all over frequently, the slightest bit of game can have a much bigger impact.

Rejection out of hand is part of the strategy anyways. If anyone comes to me and says they've got a 100% success rate then I call bullshit. The point you missed here is that this honestly depends who you are. PERSONALLY, I have had a lot more success recently by upping the quality of girls I talk to.

I am an attractive guy though with natural psychopathic tendencies and a fuck ton of confidence. To hot as fuck girls, I am different than other guys they are approached by. I'm one that they actually have to fear might pump and dump them, and you know, that excites them. It's rare, especially for someone who doesn't have a "status halo" of something like fame fueling that attitude. So they're interested in me.

At the same time, to a 5 or 6, I am yet another decent looking guy who wants to put my dick in them and not call them back. I am nothing special. The excitement is not the same.

I've been experiencing this lately as well. For a long time, I limited myself to average-ish chicks just because a lot rejected me when I was starting out so I figured this was my "max." Define 5s? I think sometimes people refer to a woman/girl as a 5 when they really mean something lower. If you mean lower, then I would say no. Go out on a warm-up date maybe when you're getting back into the groove, but I don't think it's very responsible to use someone like that. If something does happen, you will probably not want to do it again and you will probably regret it. Someone who has weight issues and personal mental health issues and other attractiveness issues is more likely to go "nice girl" on you and either stalk you or entrap you somehow. Totally not worth it.

On another note, here's the problem with the rating system when used as a generic number. Bear with me. My last 'dating episode' was with someone of east Asian ancestry, which biases my rating immediately (muh preference right now). Her body was a solid realistic 7.5-8 slender 5'8" (105-110 lbs) with firm round breasts. Personally I would have rated her body higher if she had fuller thighs and hips without adding flab (so maybe 120 lbs). But some like the waif / barbie build, so they would rate higher. Regardless I found her body and light cappuccino skin so nice to behold that I found myself just looking and admiring her like a work of art. Her face, though was more average (5) and she was a little toothy.

All in all, ratings a very often subject to personal preference and bias if you are somewhat emotionally invested. In my recent case, I might rate an Asian 6 an 8 and any other race 7 a 6. The preferences extend to build, so there we need to aim for objectivity based on some arbitrary standard, just for comparison's sake. I think we need to consider social clout too. Someone could be pretty, but new to town and not carry much social standing making scoring a date with her not so competitive.

What we need is a reproducible standard composite scoring system that accounts for face (hair + face) and body and maybe details like presentation (fashion, well kept feet and hands) and maybe personality and demeanor or something to account for how she carries herself.

It depends. Are you a 6 or a 7? If so, then yes, it's fine. If you are a 5, then even better. If you are an 8 or higher than it wouldn't be recommended. This is my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

It depends on the circumstances. Are you in a relatively small town where people know each other? Then no. Hot women will see you with someone less attractive and assume you're desperate or that your standards are low. No 8 wants to steal a guy from a 5. But also, be real with yourself and decide where you stand in the sexual marketplace... no 8 wants to date a 5, either, unless he already has a 9 or 10.

On the other hand, if you live in a highly populated area where it doesn't matter with whom you're seen, and you actually like her, go for it. Sometimes the 5s can surprise you and be a whole lot of fun.
