Am I the only one that thinks it’s funny that instead of saying “The Median Age of First Marriage” the graph is based on the number of years after 18?

And as to the rest of the article, that’s just young people thinking the world is different for them. As someone who went to college in the 90s, everyone was fucking everyone else even though Tinder, etc wasn’t a thing yet.

Dalrock is laying too much at the feet of the sexual revolution.

Some respect should be shown to the fucked up economy for why marriage is being postponed.

The data clearly shows age of marriage to have been increasing in a rather steady way since the sexual revolution. Meanwhile, the economy has seen all sorts of ups and downs during the same period. If anything, I think it’s the other way around: the fucked up economy (which is starting to do better now btw) can be partly traced to the sexual revolution.

That's a name I haven't seen in awhile

You should repost your 8chan efficiency study post. It's been long enough

Yeah, I don’t post much, sometime I speak up in askTRP when some really idiotic idea takes hold of a thread.

I had completely forgotten about that study, I’m not going to make a separate post, but here’s a link if anyone’s interested (prepend reddit and r, bot won’t let me post otherwise):

I’m saying they are interrelated. Women joining the workforce isn’t quite part of the sexual revolution but is has depressed wages for the past 50 years.

Economic instability leads to a decrease in marriage worldwide regardless of whether hypergamy has been unleashed.

I think it is a lot of separate closely related factors.

Did you not see the graph? It is a nearly perfectly straight upward sloping line starting in the 60s.

Did first marriages occur at younger ages during the "Roaring '90's"?

Yeah, imagine the that, the "sexual revolution" occured right after the birth control pill was introduced. Once all those nice girls discovered they didn't have to worry about getting pregnant their panties starting flying off in record numbers.
