As you shed skin, you shed friends. Tell him in a non-confrontational way to cut the shit. If he doesn’t, the best thing you can do for the both of you is to cut him off.

Agree and amplify. I had a friend like this who was generally an asshole and I cut him out of my life when I was like 14. I ran into him years later at a college bar with my current LTR and he tried to pull the same shit where he would knock me down in front of her. I agreed and amplified with pretty much all of the bullshit he said and eventually he just gave up and left. Afterwards my LTR even mentioned that he seemed like one of the most insecure people she’d ever met. Honestly when people act like that most people will pick up on the fact that they’re insecure. The best you can do is show it doesn’t phase you.

Just like there are high-maintenance girlfriends, there are high-maintenance guy friends. They're not all complete pieces of shit with insecurity issues, but you just can’t hang with them unless you're willing to constantly engage in competitive shit talk. Some of them will actually come through for you like a true friend does when it counts, but you’ll always have to be "on" around them and it can get annoying. I had a bunch of those types as buddies in college but you don't have to keep them around if you don't want

Don't come at him straight on or it will legitimize his activity, it would imply you think he's worth fighting off. Instead, set up the circumstances for his humiliation.

Set up a group outting, go to a bar with plenty of people, bring your LTR. Then, pointedly suggest that he go talk to a specific girl he's looking at within earshot of your LTR and your friends. When he hesitates, go do it yourself. Bring her back with you and watch him fuck up dramatically as you reengage with you LTR. You're the wingman, he's the fuck up. Once he does and the girl walks away, go on the offensive. Talk sarcastically about what great ways he has with women, whatever. It'll be your turn to jab. At this point, you need to break him, get the entire group laughing at him. Crush your enemy completely or else he'll come after you again.

Or he gets laid and can finally occupy himself with something other than his erotic fantasies about you.
