Cocky/'bad' boy behavior helped me score with a girl over a better looking guy

I'm a 22 y/o male and remembered something interesting from 3 years ago (when I was 19 and had just found TRP). I'm UK based not US.

While I was at uni, I had just lost a lot of weight and was no longer the fat guy. In fact, I was slightly skinny fat (fucked up by not lifting as I was losing weight, but was really desperate to no longer be fat once uni started back up for my second year). So at this time I didn't have much 'true' inner confidence, and decided to fake it by acting a bit cocky/douchey.

So outwardly I appeared confident, but I guess some people might be able to see through it. Anyway, while I was at a uni social, I noticed a HB7 blonde white girl and can't remember how we started talking, but I said to her ''I probably won't remember your name by the end of this night'' and she got really offended. But I could tell she was attracted.

Later that night while at the club, another guy from the social that I knew (acquaintance) approached her. Now I honestly think objectively speaking, this guy was WAY better looking than me.

• For starters, he was white, whereas I was indian (not saying this in a racist way, just that girls usually prefer white guys. But I think this is way more pronounced in the USA, cos I didn't really struggle with white girls here in the UK)

• He had a strong and sharp jawline. I had slightly chubby cheeks. He was muscular/lean. I was skinny (155lbs at 6''2)

• Honestly, the only things I really had above him in terms of looks was my height (I was 6''2, he was 6''0) and my fashion. I had really strong fashion game, regularly complimented by guys and girls alike

The biggest difference though, was that I was projecting this bad boy/cocky image with strong body language (faked), whereas he seemed really Beta. I'm not sure why this was, but he had REALLY poor body language. He hunched his back and seemed a bit timid (which was surprising, cos this dude looked muscular). He also had a nasally voice.

By all accounts he was better looking than me, but once he approached her, she told him to ''shoo''. She literally motioned him away with her hands to go away, it was a brutal rejection. And yet a few minutes later, she approaches me and says ''Still don't remember my name?''. She was still fixated on that, anyway I escalated from there and kiss-closed soon after. I did end up taking her home that night, but unfortunately couldn't my dick up (porn issues, which is another topic alltogether).

Basically, does anyone think there that strong Beta vibes can offset even good looks? Because I was surprised that I ''beat''/AMOG'd this guy for this HB7. At the time I was inexperienced, I no longer feel the need to act like a bad boy or be loud, I'm much quieter now because I don't feel the need to show off....this change occurred as I grew more confident in myself, and hasn't changed my results, if anything my results got way better since I gained real confidence, but at the core of this...has anyone else seen/experienced similar things? Where Beta vibes can overpower even good looks?
