So. I asked this on asktrp a few days ago, I have been dabbling in "catfishing" UMC/UC women on dates. Not faking anything about my physical appearence, but faking everything else. Ive created a persona essentially.

Anyways, I've been sucessful rarely with getting past a first date with those women. I can fool MC and below women pretty easily, but it seems like UMC can somewhat and UC can mostly sus me out.

From my observations (as a LMC) it is far more than just the money. It is mostly of aspects of socialization, and which stepping stones you hopped across, many of which are only feasible with wealth, yes, but the wealth is secondary to the socialization.

There is more than the robes and filled coffer that seperates a peasant from a King. Military officers have to have special schooling in order to act the way the do, as a "gentleman", which is different than the mere cannonfodder. Ivy leaguers are different than the people going to state schools. A lottery winner would be completely ostracized from true UC groups even if they have more wealth, the same way any "new money" is really. It seems like there is a concept of purebred.

Im going to end with some questions, The rest is just a long quote from someone on asktrp giving his answer which you can completely skip over if you want, but if not Id like to know how true you think it is. He also seems to be speaking of conservative elites.

Anyways, The main question is, what other than wealth, seperates the classes?

What are some "tells" of low class behavior?

What are some "tells" of high class behavior?

Is there a difference in behavior in a dating context between high class and low class people, if so, what are they?

What can a man (or a woman) of a lower class do to appeal to (or fool) high class people?

Quotes:

"If you are around college age you can get away with drinking beer. Never from cans, cans are for the lower class, upper class drinks bottles. When you are older you drink wine. And eat cheese. You don't smear things on toast, better is to have a cheese platter. Fast food is for the poor. You don't eat anything from the frozen aisle, fish sticks are for lower class. Eat fresh produce that you cook, have a cook, and a cleaner, and your future kids will be managed by an au pair.

Watch upper class sports like tennis and hockey, soccer and football are for the plebs. If you play a sport you do squash. You don't watch tv, you read newspapers. Or better; fancy magazines like National Geographic or The Economist. In the past you have read intellectually stimulating and classical works like The Prince or The Nicomachean Ethics. You know about the Chicago school of economics and Milton Friedman, you don't know who Joseph Schumpeter is. On management you consider Mintzberg your bible.

Work on proper pronunciation, simple language is not appreciated. You have upper class style, no dirty clothes, no t-shirts, no open shoes, no logos or lettering on the clothes, you are not a walking billboard or a little boy. You have style, but not too much style either. If you are obviously stylish you fail.

You don't do work that is nine-to-five, you don't punch a clock, you don't have a boss telling you what to do. You set your own time, work independently or direct others. Good jobs are manager, entrepreneur, lawyer, finance. You don't have improper opinions, you vote right wing, you care about rules, a deal is a deal, a contract is a contract. When it is not in your interest and you can get away with it you ignore contracts. You never say that you do.

You don't talk about money. Or even better; 'In our family we don't talk about money'. You feel that being rich is a tough job because you have to worry about so much and manage it all. Have a brokerage account, talk with authority about the latest move by the Fed and how it is necessary to keep inflation under control. Worry about the profit margins of banks. Caring about the environment is for activist weirdos.

When traveling you go to expensive places, or cultural places in Europe. If you are adventurous you go to Nepal or climb Kilimanjaro. You go sailing with friends on the mediterranean. You care about traditions and the status quo.BTW this stuff applies only to upper middle class. I've never interacted with the true upper class millionaires and richer so I don't know (all) the rules. Billionaires are also a different and stranger group of people that don't always follow homogenous rules. For example; Bill Gates is a billionaire but he is not upper class. Since he is a selfmade billionaire his background is clearly middle/upper middle class. Donald Trump is another billionaire who in reality is obviously lower class. The upper class does not like gold, instead they like silver. They also don't like being flashy, jewelry is supposed to be impressive but not over the top. Now compare that to Donald Trumps penthouse.

On the subject of jewelry; you are to wear a watch. It should look fancy and of high quality but the brand shouldn't be known by lower class people. Good brands are Vacheron Constantin or Breitling. Rolex is worn by pimps.

You are not to take religion too seriously but you also do not speak negatively of it. The upper class cares about the status quo and traditions. Remember the purpose of religion is to create obedient slaves, you are not so you don't care about it much, but you need the lower class to be so; no badmouthing the church.

You are to speak at least one foreign language, if your native tongue is English the best choice is French. If your native tongue isn't English than your second language is English. You should at least aspire to learn another language (or claim as much).

The upper class also cares a lot about family and proper breeding. You have a good relationship with your parents and siblings. You are not allowed to have an uneven face, you don't have tattoos, you don't do weird things with your hair. Think; mens sana in corpore sano.

You have gone to university, you refer to it as your alma mater. All your kids will go to university too. You joined a student organisation of some kind, you remember their latin motto. Oxford university's motto is Dominus Illuminatio Mea, you should know your University's motto. BTW you also did some fencing in college.

In fact knowing a few latin phrases and interesting quotes is another good indicator of upper class schooling and interests. I.e. "Via ovicipitum dura est" spoken by the late Adlai Stevenson.

You need to read, non-fiction if you are a man is pretty much required. But you don't need to read much. In fact if you read too much you are in danger of having unsound uncommon opinions which is not liked. Your house has a bookcase with a bunch of books on a variety of subjects.

You don't gamble. Gambling is for the poor to loose their money, its acceptable only on group activities or if you are insanely wealthy and go to fancy places like Monaco. On the rare occasions that you gamble you don't use machines, you play card games. You know how to play bridge. Own a chess set.

Finally if all this is true for you then you are a strange freak, some of this needs to be true, but not all of it.

Values:

  • Healthy; good food, healthy habits, no smoking, no drinking (wine is allowed, students exempted)
  • Fit; do some sport, nothing that average people do, don't be a bodybuilder (you don't say you lift, you say you do fitness)
  • Risk averse; no gambling, support status quo, support traditions
  • Rules; contracts, traditions, soundness, flaunting the law is for lower class people, the law is on your side
  • Style; look good without trying, you are this way it is not a hobby, quality, non-flashy, no tattoos
  • Politics; right wing, support traditions, support hierarchies
  • Finances; high paying jobs, independence oriented jobs, real estate holdings, investing
  • Education; well read, university schooling, cosmopolitanTRP rules and principles are followed almost to the letter. BP stuff is very middle class. The higher up you go the more traditional it gets. Both men and women are expected to follow their gender roles. You will be shit tested more, men will shit test other men on their adherence to the rules. For example; you can expect another man to question you on your travelling habits; the upper classes travel a lot and consider themselves world citizens.

There is less tolerance for different sexual identities, as a man you are not accepted as gay or bi. You are not to speak badly of people who are but you also shouldn't have any friends who are bi or gay.

Men don't have jobs, they have careers. And the right kind. Women are not expected to work but they are allowed to work. Women do not earn more money than men. Manual labor is for staff, if you cant afford both a cleaner and a cook you have just the cleaner and the cooking will be done primarily by the woman.

The women will concern themselves with child rearing. Staying home and serving tea and cookies is a thing.

As far as I can tell the upper classes are not conscious of TRP but they do follow the rules. You are expected to pick this up and figure it out as you grow up.

There are some obvious differences between upper middle class and TRP:

- You are not allowed to spin plates as a guy. A mistress is the best you get.

- Marriage is almost mandatory. You are expected to marry both as men and as women. Divorce rates are lower for the upper classes.

- Upper class women are not allowed to sleep around as much as the lower classes, and having sex with lower class men is definitely not accepted.

- Slutty behaviour by women is not accepted. Such things have to be done during culturally approved times and settings like while travelling or during college.

I suspect that the marriage thing will change over time, either the law or the culture. The upper class has more wealth to protect and the status quo doesn't allow for that. Here you see two upper class values clashing, tradition on one hand and wealth acquisition on the other.

I have heard/read about stories of more liberal sexual attitudes among the upper class. Things like BDSM, wife sharing, swingers clubs, and such. I don't know what the prevalence is.

In short; upper class men are expected to be alpha chads that marry. Women are expected to be 50s Stepford wives."
