The Red Pill states that looks are important, but really only talks about 2 areas of looks - lifting and dressing well. There are other areas which they don't talk about or even mention as significant, and one of these is skin tone.

Judging by my observations, having a good tanned skin tone is very important to be considered attractive. No one finds pale pasty skin attractive. If you think of all the standard good looking famous men, they all have a good tanned skin complexion (in before someone mentions Robert Pattinson. a) he still has a light tan and b) exceptions don't make the rule). It's extremely rare to come across genuinely good looking pale men.

If you think of the cultures which tan the easiest - Greek, Italian, Spanish - it's no surprise that women love the men from these cultures and we refer to good looking men as "Greek Gods" after such cultures. Then if you think of the cultures with pale pasty people - mainly Britain and Ireland - I don't think it's any surprise that such cultures are rated to have the ugliest people in Europe.

Tanned skin tones emphasize musculature, it makes you look slimmer, it looks healthier, it looks better in photos. You can have lower levels of muscle as a tanned person and look better than a pale person with higher levels of muscle.

I remember one of my pale friends a few years ago getting a spray tan, just to see how different his life would be. People treated him better. He was given more respect. Girls paid more attention to him. He said the difference wasn't absolutely huge, but still very much noticeable.

And finally, if we look at women, a large number of them fake tan. Women themselves know how important a good tan is for looking good. I don't think it's a stretch to say that it's just as important for men.

So really, how important is having tanned skin for attractiveness?
