Theres probably a lot of reasons. I think the big one is sex doesn't seem all that great if they other person isn't into it. Theres no performance a prostitute could ever do for me that would make me forget I am paying for her to pretend that she wants me. It's expensive and for the small percentage of guys that do like prostitutes don't really have a socially acceptable outlet to lobby for legalization. I am from Germany and prostitution is as legal as it gets here. And let me tell you, American men, especially RPers and MGTOWs, vastly overestimate the positive impact of legal prositution for men. In reality, it doesn't change much about the SMP, women's entitlement and so on. Men in Germany still worship and bust their ass open for women who don't put in half as much effort.

I regularly say I think prostitution should be legal, for a variety of reasons. There are things prostitution cannot give you, though:

A certain type of girl - Prostitutes somehow seem to all have some kind of convention as to how to look and dress and advertise, and you tell me, why is that? To me it's not the sexiest possibility, not even close. I want the girls I desire from my everyday experiences. You cannot find the proverbial girl next door working as a prostitute. Up in arms? For this sort of issue? No. I can't point out how it is necessarily a violation of rights to prohibit certain economic transactions.

That said, I believe prostitution should be legalized within careful guidelines to prevent sex trafficking and exploitation and to control the spread of STDs.

In short, requiring that anyone engaging in certain activities have a license, health screens, and the ability to speak to a government authority in private, and a reasonable ability for the government to inspect them, the same as OSHA.

People are still very uptight about sex in so-called respectable circles. The Victorian era has not left us yet. It's the same kind of thing as people being afraid to speak up in criticism of a feminist idea or on behalf of men, in case they are labelled a misogynist or smeared in other ways.

Being honest and telling the truth are not the norm for public figures because they have to consider the effect of their proposals and words on their reputation and position in public life. Even in normal conversation, there will be a lot of self-editing going on, unless there is complete trust, acceptance, relaxation and freedom from the fear of judgement between the participants.

I can say at least two reasons, at least for America, why Prostitution is still illegal. 1. Conservative Norms. 2. Feminism.

In my opinon, Pro-Sex feminsim lost the cultural battle in that regard. I don't see many Feminist actually take a hardcore Pro-Sex stance these days, given the progressive zeitgeist currently.

Because of these two things, Right wing stances and a ever growing feminist ideology of anti-sex freedom, I don't see this being legalized anytime soon.

It is legal, but in most states only in long term contractual relationships called marriage.

And the regulation of those contractual relationships is heavily skewed against us.

It’s completely legal where I am based, not just the country I’m in but several counties in my region. I do hope the US can see the sense in this one day and join the rest of the world in doing what makes sense.

Even if prostitution is illegal, they still have access to it. Or even if they can't have access to it, they can get porn, toys, women, etc. Legalising prostitution is not their fight, but it is the fight of the prostitutes for their right to work in their profession.

Heterosexual men didn't largely fight for gay rights. Nor white men fought for the rights of black men. Nor women have fought for men's rights.

And no, prostitution is not as valuable as you think it is.

Sex is about validation. It's about the other person giving herself to you sexually because she finds you sexually attractive.

If you have to buy sex from a prostitute, it just becomes very expensive masturbation.

If a girl goes home with you from a bar for free the night she met you, it's still essentially just masturbation, but the girl validated you by fucking you when the only thing she got in return was getting to be with you sexually.

I am. I'm a libertarian activist so I'd legalize prostitution absolutely. I wouldn't even regulate it beyond "no fraud, no violence, no forcing others to be prostitutes, and don't spread diseases."
