This thread hit the front page yesterday and I found it to be interesting because many of the comments and arguments closely resemble the debates we find ourselves in here.

I was also surprised by the tone of the responses from many women who essentially claimed it was a terrible crime to ask a friend out after her previous relationship ended. It was also surprising to me how many women claimed to genuinely be ignorant of their male friends (orbiters) intentions until a breakup. This came off as too naive for me to believe. I really don't believe women are this unaware. So I'd appreciate some input from the women here. Considering the OP in this case is a college girl, could it merely be a natural learning curve that women eventually come to learn? A red pill of sorts?

Lots of women in that thread are wrongly assume that a male friend making a move or asking them out when she becomes single is some nefarious, seedy thing.

Q4All: why do women believe that a male friend asking her out or making a move (after a breakup) is some nefarious thing?
