Because a significant number of those 100s of men (assuming the woman is actually attractive since it'll be lower otherwise) will want to disappear after either the first fuck or once she starts wanting more than casual sex. Women who don't want to sleep around have to screen for that in addition to looking for traits they're attracted to.

Because they have unrealistic standards relative to their RMV. They try desperately to lie and say "yeah so what 100s of guys want me! None of them are good". Ask yourself, what's more likely, every man shes ever met is a total piece of shit, or she has unrealistic standards?

Even if only 1% of men are "good", that means for every 100 that approach you, you'll have a quality guy. The experience for many men on the other hand, is having no options at all. At least being a woman you have multiple suitors to narrow down from.

The problem is most women are vying for the small percentage of men that meet their unrealistic standards.

I side with women most of the time, because I've seen, experienced, and sometimes exemplified the guy side of things. But everything ITT are things both sides deal with (albeit women a lot more).

Guys, hate to break it to the vast majority of you, but you're quite plainly not nearly as interesting as you think you are. It doesn't matter what factoids you can recite; had an ex like this and she just ended up repeating herself and being pedantic to try and win arguments (like why the fuck does American history have a part this?).

Here are some things for all parties to avoid:

Having no personality; latching onto whatever guy/girl you're dating and suddenly liking everything they're into because they're your stereotypical ideal partner
Liking someone based on the sole concept of their racial heritage being the quintessential asian/black/white guy (with no room for in-between)
Having standards that are too high for their looks and boring personalities or lack thereof
Complain about being single and literally refuse to even acknowledge that someone has a crush on you - not to say that you're obligated to date that person but just be polite. Seriously. Be kind about it. Is it that hard?

Men: Unsolicited dick pics are stupid, unflattering, unimaginative, and will only net you the most diseased of sluts. Fucking stop it. Seriously. And bashing women for turning you down? Let's just say I'm glad every one of you wretched fuckers is getting outed in social media for the awful human beings you are. Flipping a 180 on every chick as if you were owed anything for taking the time out of your day to write a shitty unwanted advance in their DMs. If ever in the history of the internets that's worked for you, consider the women it's worked for compared to the ones who take offense and ask yourself why that relationshit didn't work out. Either because she was an indiscriminate easy lay desperate for approval who would've fucked your dog if you suggested it because how much lower could she go really? or because she gave you more than a piece and you ought to get you and your dog checked for disease and see a psych while you're at it for your anger issues. Acknowledge that the internet ratio of men to women is about a deck of cards to jokers, and there's a slim-to-none chance that out of those ten you're carrying anything higher than a 5 of clubs. And that's being fucking generous.

Women: Some of you already get this, and myself and countless others are grateful for that (not that it always helps but thanks anyway), but the status quo is changing. Will those of you who've yet to get the memo get off your high horses of traditionalism and ask the men out who YOU find attractive? Because as cliche as it sounds, the one thing that will forever echo throughout the ages is - We are not mind-readers, signals are too subtle, like trolls saying "I was just joking don't be so butthurt I wasn't serious" and it's not worth risking our jobs being reported to HR, as it's not most of our aim to make you uncomfortable in the workplace by approaching you or saying the wrong thing. Me, guys like me, and most with any respect will act completely oblivious to any advances made in that environment because the climate on this is hot as fuck right now and it's "better to be safe than sorry." Sound familiar? The shoe is on the other foot and like it or not, believe in it or not, men are (rightfully) scared shitless of those who even might misunderstand and cost them their jobs because there are those of you who you know damn well will do anything for the attention and/or bragging rights, reparations, compensation, whatthefuckever. No thanks. But if you ask a guy out? Well, when the fuck do men report sexual harassment? Think about it.

Women who says dating is hard are often ones who haven't done it for a long time. E.g. married with 20, divorced with 30, and now starting to date for the first time in a decade. Or been 100% career-focused until age 39, and now starting to look for a future husband for the first time. Obviously, when you are starting from scratch at an advanced age it's going to be harder. It's going to be even harder when you have the (somewhat unrealistic) expectation of finding a potential husband right away. It's going to be even harder when you are at an age when most people who are interested in marriage are already married, i.e. above 30.

So it really comes down to lack of experience and unrealistic expectations. I never heard women who have years of dating experience and are not looking to marry Prince Charming say dating was hard. The ones who complain about dating the most tend to be the ones who are averagely attractive, in their late thirties, but somehow think they are so awesome that some handsome millionaire athlete is going to jump out of the bushes and propose to them any moment.

They’re seeking the best males and From them they are seeking “a real commitment” and not just sex.

So their goals make it a much harder task than a Male would estimate projecting male desires and indiscrimination on women.

Dating is hard for women because they are biologically hardwired (DNA, Darwin, etc) to reject all by the top % of men.

Us men look at that and think, "You have it so easy, all these men chasing you, doing all the heavy lifting, all the risk taking, all the paying".

We never look on the other side.

They are prisoners (so to speak) of their true nature. They meet decent guy after decent guy and their brain tells them, "He's not good enough". Even when they get a high value, high quality man, that same brain now says, "You could be doing better, isn't there someone who is ______ (taller, richer, better looking) that you should be looking to upgrade?"

On the surface, sure they have it a lot easier. But at the end of the day, they really don't. Think of how miserable you would be if you were only attracted to a tiny sliver of women? Oh, and you would rather be alone than be with any woman who doesn't meet your harsh demands? To live in such denial of your true value on the sexual marketplace?

It's not a fun way to live.
