Personally, I’m glad women who do problematic shit are getting called out along with the men. MeToo is bigger than any individual celebrity, it’s not a brand and Rose McGowen is not the CEO. I mean hell, Matt Lauer was waving the MeToo flag and grilling Bill O’Reilly, only to be called out on his own behavior. This isn’t a football game, it’s not a competition between genders, it’s a genuine purge of abusers and a cultural shift away from generational, systemic problems. A lot of abusers were abused themselves, like Asia apparently. Kevin Spacey was also likely abused as a child but that doesn’t make what he did okay. This all needs to be brought into the light.

OK, think about this. She was 28 when she worked with him, he was 8 frickin' years old. She at one point called him her son...and feminists think the Oedipus complex is men's problem?

I have no doubt he was attracted to her but in modern society we sadly assume that men are the aggressor. In this case a sick human being preyed on a young man when she should have known better.

Me too isn't just for women; women who are predators should go to jail as well, and I have no sympathy for Asia Argento. As a mom of young men, I would have been outraged if a grown woman in her 30's had had sex with them. People laugh and say "nice" /southpark, but the truth is, a young guy could end up with 18 years of child support paid to their rapist if she gets pregnant. That's outrageous.

I have no idea who these two women are. If two women being hypocrites would stop a movement like metoo, then it would've stopped in 2017. Way too fragile and weak.

The point of metoo is that non-celebrity people are supposed to get heard by their employers and peers. Not that we're supposed to listen to every single famous person with an opinion.

To me Terry Crews is a much more important face as well for it. Because it highlighted something I didn't take even half as seriously as I should (Even though I thought I took it seriously).

MeToo isn't going anywhere yet, and if it does, this won't even be remembered as a minor reason for why it disappeared.

It's amazing how much back tracking is happening.

No one spoke about women being the abusers the first time round. Some men who highlighted their abuse before were also excluded from the conversation. Some posters here on PPD also made a point of how women were tired of the abuse they were getting at the hands of men. Some people did point out that many of these women were aware of how dirty the industry was and questioned why they were only speaking out now.

Now MeToo is 'doing its job' when it was started by abusers themselves. It's ironic, yes, but is it a good idea to support an ideology of victimhood run by abusers? Shouldn't we have been more skeptical of their claims from the start? So many men were affected by this that they were afraid to be alone at work with women who reported to them. Men's jobs and reputations were on the line from accusations alone.

Perhaps there's a better way to deal with accusations, such as not guilty until proven innocent. Perhaps healthy skepticism is also not unwarranted.

I don’t see what difference this makes to the point of the movement. The point it is making is still there. If anything this just means that the movement should be less female-centric and should be adjusted to include male victims more.
