If "taking the red pill" is meant to indicate one's desire to accept reality regardless of how much he may or may not personally like that reality, then "taking the blue pill" means refusing to acknowledge reality, even when a stark truth is staring you in the face.

Really? You want a citation for a truth so fundamental to human nature that it permeates literally everything in every culture? Like, the majority of art and music and literature make at least some reference to this - testifying that other people have observed the exact same thing that you've observed and yet, somehow you manage to pretend that you haven't seen what you've seen.

The guy who asked for a citation was easily provided multiple sources. But still, I can't believe he needed to ask.
