It's the same reason why many women with high n counts will tell you it doesn't matter and then get all defensive and refuse to divulge their n count or past escapades precisely because it "doesn't matter." If that were true there'd be no reason to hide it.

Deep down we all know that sexual pasts matter, especially for women. Since other women are usually far more privy to the small talk their girlfriends and fellow women make and spend far more time around women, they're aware of the games women can play more than the average man. They've probably all seen someone with a sordid past suddenly change her ways and rope in a clueless but stable guy for commitment, only to get more on the side.

It less about judgement of past, more about worry of future behaviour. "Sluts" might not exactly want to settle for one dick.

Just sad that they don't extend that same sympathy when they are the ones doing the cheating or manipulating for "gifts", or even when guys try to figure out how to never be in the "nice guy who gets taken advantage of" position.

I've only seen it when the girl is a "I'm not that type of girl anymore" reformed type. That is basically guaranteed dead bedroom and infidelity in the future. I suspect women know that behavior in other women.

A friend of mine's sister tried to wreck his relationship with a girl like that. Luckily for him it didn't work and she turned out to be the "I'm still a ho but just for this one dick" type and now they've got kids popping up all over the place.

I have heard feminist say slut shaming is bad, but I haven't heard them say that sexual past doesn't matter. The few feminist blogs and comics I have seen they have spoke about the importance of talking about sextual past with new partners, STD test, and using protection. What is an example of a feminist saying sexual past doesn't matter?

I agree with feminist that slut shaming is bad. When it comes to strangers, and some friends and friends I just think if they are consenting adults then it's none of my business and I am not going to shame them or tell them they have to change.

If I had a older brother who was getting married to a women as you described, I guess I would be concerned if he wasn't aware of her sexual past because he may want a monogomous relationship, but she may not be happy with that. Then I would warn him about the relationship may not work out. I'm not going to shame her, but I would think she would probably be happier in a poly relationship. If my brother was cool with that then that's his choice, he is an adult. But, also knowing my family I would just warn him that if our other family members find out they would judge him.

I have not had this experience, or seen a feminist who does.

It's one thing to sleep with a lot of people, but its a whole different ball game when your sex life is the talk of the town. That's messy behavior that indicates a lot of potential drama. Of course this isn't always true, so i would never jump to that conclusion without knowing the woman in question.

That being said, i would trust my brother's judgment with whatever woman he chooses to love - he's a super smart guy.

This is literally the same phenomenon as the "typical Chad dude philander who spun plates and fucked every girl he could" suddenly developing very different views the moment his daughter starts puberty, or any of his similarly minded guy friends shows a sliver of interest in his sister.

I personally believe that the main criteria for any philosophy on sexuality and prudishness vs. slutiness, is this; would you, truly and honestly, with the kind of people you´re defending dating the most innocent loved one you have? Would you be fine with Miss. Footballteam marrying your adorable kid brother when he grows up? Would you be OK with Mr. ChadThundercock taking your daughter on a date?

And I only continue debating with people who either say "yes" instantly and un-apologetically, with none of the usual attempted rationalizations, or people who say "no", and then actually change their mind.

He should call off the wedding. A woman who does that sort of shit is fucked in the head and definitely cannot pair-bond. I'm guessing either she has hit the wall or your brother has a promising career. Either way your brother would be better off without her or at least not marrying her.
