Well, everyone who has been around in here for more than a few weeks has seen the usual debates about TRP and how and why people consider it ridiculous or even outright repulsive; and generally bluepillers tried to tell us more than once that the biggest problem with /r/theredpill was that it was childish, needlessly vicious, overtly angry, misogynist etc. and if redpillers did away with all that stuff which offended bluepillers to no end, of course it would become totally acceptable and no one in his right mind would have something against it (because as we all know, the stuff that's reasonable about TRP is totally accepted by the mainstream anyway). And that of course nobody would be against someone who focuses primarily on the interests of boys and men instead of those of women, as long as the former doesn't hurt the latter.

But when I think of it, disregarding the whole "go lift"-stuff, Jordan Peterson actually *does* reflect this sanitized version of redpill ideals pretty well: he is for personal responsibility without selfishness, for character growth without narcissism, he encourages men to become stable and productive members of society. But more than that:

- being edgy or offensive: let's just say that JBP is probably one of the most calm persons you can see on screen. The worst you get from him is a disapproving "WTF is wrong with your thought processes"-look on his face which is usually more than justified, but other than that he's extremely polite. Also, everything he says is worded in the most careful manner to avoid opening himself up to any attacks by his critics, even when they mercilessly strawman his statements to hell and back.

- sexual strategy is amoral: While JBP analyses of mating and dating behavior as such can be considered non-judgmental (i.e. amoral), it's pretty clear that he has strong moral standards.

- dreadgame (and other sort of stuff considered abusive by TBP), anger phase, enjoying the decline: if he comments on subjects like that, it's clear that he's very much against it.

- alpha posturing: can't recall him having advocated for that, at least not to an extreme extent.

- accepting responsibility: very much for it...

- MGTOWs: ... which is why he is against them.

- gender differences: He is strongly in the "there are notable gender differences"-camp, but as bluepillers never tire to tell us, this is totally uncontroversial and only the worst fringe nutjob SJWs refuse to accept that. He also is in favor of freedom of choice for women, but according to him most of what feminists like to discredit as the patriarchy at work *is* the result of exactly that - female choice.

- he has no problems with transsexuals (something that has wrongfully been imputed over and over again), he's just opposed to the "there are 400 genders and each day I can decide on the whim which one I am"-rubbish promoted by the LGBTIIQ+$!#-crowd.

- and so on.

Basically, the "worst" (from a progressive perspective) you can say about him is that he is fundamentally at odds with postmodernists and their narrative, but that's hardly a crime considering everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, isn't it?

And yet there are enough people in media and academia who try to discredit and demonize him, who reduce his positions to some severely twisted versions of taken-out-of-context statements he made, who want to see him removed from campus and who consider his presence and his following a mortal danger to our society as it is; who hold it against him that he is sort of a self-help advocate for men (because apparently, someone who has the interests of men at heart can't be anything else but a shitlord who only wants to oppress women) and whenever I read about him in mainstream non-conservative journals it's hard to *not* get a derisive article that's part of an overarching smear campaign.

So, I wonder - where is all that acceptance towards a sanitized red pill? Where is the fundamental respect for people with different political opinions; of which - as we all know - bluepillers are the champions?

... or was it all the usual gaslighting after all? How come I have to think of [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70czT6tPvcs)?
