A common rebuttal to TRP is that advice from TRP minus misogyny or what is claimed to be misogyny is already mainstream advice. This is not true, because most mainstream advice is highly sugar coated, embellished, or devoid of merit-based logic.

A good example here is about male virginity.

Main stream advice says women don't care at all if a guy is a virgin, or they even like him better if he is!

But why? I don’t understand why having sex is so important and not having sex is so bad? It doesn’t prove anything. It doesn’t make you a better man or person. It doesn’t make you more desirable to women.

Good girls won't care if you're a virgin. If anything, they will view that as sweet and admirable of you for being able to refrain from your primitive urges when everyone else can’t.

A lot of people have sex because they’re afraid of being judged for not having sex or because they just can’t control themselves. The fact you are able to save yourself for a woman is remarkably impressive. https://www.reddit.com/r/relationship_advice/comments/1ljylg/im_20m_a_virgin_and_am_depressed/cc00uf8/

Note : That comment got reddit gold and 125 points, so it's quite well supported in that sub.

Here are some more exmaples

Yes definitely preferable to be "abysmal". Any girl worthy of taking your virginity will understand that you're not gonna be an expert first time round and that practice makes perfect :) https://www.reddit.com/r/sex/comments/4m7nv9/experiance_girls_honestly_how_much_do_you_care_if/d3tazjg/

And a really really dishonest comment:

A decent partner will give you a free pass for that. And let me tell you that autistic guys can definitely be hot. https://www.reddit.com/r/sex/comments/4m7nv9/experiance_girls_honestly_how_much_do_you_care_if/d3tjg9c/

As a whole, a lot of main stream advice heavily distorts the truth and gives a warped view of reality. Even women here seem to be realistic that a guy being a virgin is not desirable.
