There are just way too many generalizations on both sides. Some women do care quite a bit if a guy is a virgin. Some women won't care, especially if they are in a relationship and have feelings for that guy and it's not just some casual sex situation where she is trying to get the most pleasure possible in one night.

Society lies to men so he will continue to fill his role. There is a vested interest in keeping men "productive" in society. Without that lie and carrot we would see men just check out. Look at millennial me, many of them are "failing to launch." What society doesn't see is they are learning about the lie much earlier then my generation and generations before me, and they are actively choosing to avoid the obligations previous generations agreed to shoulder.

Part of the problem is that so much dating advice for men is given by women. This is a recipe for disaster, just as I'm sure men giving dating advice to women would be a disaster.

I've taken three male virginities out of the five men I have had sex with. I was very patient and explained to all of them that mishaps are normal until you get the hang of sex. I have an insanely high sex drive for men besides "Chad". I date or pursue socially awkward men (or socially capable introverts who just don't have the energy) because I think they make better long term mates and it's cute. I'm frequently the initiator or I give off extremely obvious signs (like asking "hey are you seeing anyone, cool, ME NEITHER" winky face).

Apparently I also don't exist.

Women aren't attracted to fat men, that's about it, but there's fat guys that slay and have no trouble getting women because they're masculine. Or they have drugs. That works too.

The obesity epidemy has it's origin in mental illness. Doesn't 1 in every 3 persons or something take anti-depressants? Aren't many people going to the therapist frequently?

What do people do over there to deal with their dramas, problems and frustations? Apparently they eat 20lbs of bacon everyday. And that's just talking about breakfeast. I have a friend who snapchats me pictures of his meals on a daily basis.

His lunch is what I eat all week long. 5 different plates of food filled up with huge portions. IDK. Mike Tyson would use boxing to deal with his problems.

Maybe if dudes ate less and punched more..

Lol, that first one isn't actually advice. It's someone telling a depressed person about dating without trying to make them feel bad about their status. A depressed virgin will mostly likely cheer up when they are told positive things associated with their status. The advice part is still the same, which is "look your best and maximize yourself".

2nd one literally depends on who you are talking about, but someone who is willing to learn is always better than someone who is bad in bed and not willing to learn. A chill and understanding person gets that someone who is on the inexperienced side will likely have a learning curve. That's pretty much a fact of life with anything (music, sports, whatever the activity is).

Lol, autism isn't a death sentence by any means, especially since most cases tend towards being on the mild side. Yes, you have to learn skills. Lots of people go through that.

The not desirable part is when a dude is a self-pitying sack of sadness, not that he is necessarily a virgin. How a guy carries himself matters way more than how actually experienced he is. Image matters, and self-image impacts others opinions of you.

Edit: My whole point is this. You can be a virgin, and autistic, but still develop (or possess) a hell of a lot of qualities that someone will find attractive. If you decide not to develop yourself at all, well, that's your problem.

Other than that, the virgin issue is a fallacy. If it would be such a turn off for women to sleep with a virgin there would only be male virgins. Every man is either a virgin or they lost it to (mostly) a woman, so a lot of women sleep with virgin men at least once in their life.

I don't think whether you're a virgin or not matters that much, but rather the reason you're a virgin. The type of men who save themselves for "the one" are rare, especially in this day and age. In general I think most men who are still virgins past their early 20's are incels, but if you're voluntarily saving yourself for marriage and women can see that you're a high value man they probably won't care.

What qualifies as mainstream? Mark Manson is decently well-known and his advice is accepted by TRP. Also, the demographics of any one particular sub are heavily skewed, so I wouldn't assume them to be representative of "mainstream" thought. A more convincing example would be something from a big publication or media outlet.
