But I will say that women are way better at faking being something else in the early stages of a relationship, because their value, apart from looks, is tied up in their nature. So all they need to do is act sweet and kind and "cool" (whether it's with being happy for you to drink and party with your friends or with giving BJs or whatever), and then later they can just 180 on all those things very easily (and they frequently do, basically like clockwork). Ehhh these aren't really equatable. Women often hold more (let's say) "power" in relationships because of legal proceedings and precedents of preferential treatment for women.

If a woman pursues/chooses a man that does not intend to stay with her for the long term, he would still pay penalties for doing so (a la child support).

However, if a man pursues/chooses a woman that may or may not intend to stay with him in a marriage, she has incentives to leave while he typically incurs financial losses.

Women have more to gain from single mother-hood and from divorce rape than men do from pumping and dumping or marriage, so it doesn't even matter at that point if men "choose wrong" or not, because they stand to lose more either way.

with so many of the single moms I've known over the years, they did make poor choices. The guys were style over substance types or often just fuck buddy/short term guys that likely really did not have any intention to spend their life with the woman raising a family but then.. pregnancy. A lot of boomer parents started out that way but stuck it out till the kids left home.

The difference in the situations you have contrasted in your OP is that for me seeing their exes, former fuck buddy, the guys they knock up with currently its obvious they are not good family man long term prospects. Some of the single moms were in LTRs and got cheated on and these guys were in the good looking chad realm but I don't consider that as being an obvious red flag to never get involved with them, but I think not rushing into having kids would have been a good idea (still quite a few guys only cheat after their LTR changes after a baby comes along). Many of the single moms would have been a pain to live with as much as the guys they liked were also volatile, or no hopers, or self centered, or lazy/not supportive, etc.

As for the guys with women who get divorced, I'm making comments based on the people I've known...in a number of cases it was not obvious the guy's made a poor choice when they were just bf/gf, but what happened is the woman changed, and mostly after they had security locked in (baby, new house, marriage). Women complain that guys dont change for a marriage whereas men will complain that she changes and was not the same....the later scenario will catch the other out more. The guys I knew who were not ideal choices for marriage/fatherhood tended to get involved with similar women, and you could see it was not going to be a long lasting relationship but I would say both were not ideal choices to be good parents.

The other aspect I find is that more men will get married than women not because their partner was their ideal choice out of many options, but rather because they didn't have many options, and if the women sense that, it will often damage the relationship bonds because she will have some resentment, less respect/desire, but will still go ahead with an LTR.

I haven't seen too many obvious shitty fake obvious gold-digger relationships, but have seen women settle down with guys that they definitely would not have dated when in their 20s/or slimmer, but these marriages/LTRs have typically lasted but I dont see any genuine affection from the women. These guys don't know what she used to be like and they are a financial security compromise. A lot of women when they get older can fake it early on for $ whereas guys will fake it for the nookie but less so for a LTR.

It takes a lot for a man to marry. He needs to attract a partner by being high value enough, such as being tall enough, wealthy enough, ambitious enough, preferably be a university graduate and learn game so he doesn't lose before he's even started. He has to commit and stop searching for additional sex partners (or else he's a cheater) to make her happy.

He has to meet her lifestyle requirements and he will work more than single men to earn enough to provide her with the children and home she desires. Then he has to keep performing, ensuring he doesn't bore her too much with comfort or risk her sex drive declining because he picked up weight, got lazy or was just too darn nice. If he fucks up, he faces a future potentially without the home he worked for, the kids he provided for and the intimacy he earned through labour over years.

People who end up with toxic and abusive partners are often missing red flags and lack boundaries and assertiveness. Maybe they are toxic and abusive themselves.

I believe that men and women are taught to seek external validation in different ways, women through being accommodating towards others, sometimes even to their own detriment and men to be the good honorable guy at all costs who is never wrong.

Yes i agree with the statement. Sometimes i’m really surprised at how lot of single childneas men in the states would be open to dating singlemoms and those who dont would be blamed for it.

Where i’m from in east asia, 99% of the guys would never marry or date single moms unless they have kid themselves. Its just common sense. I would never marry a guy who already have kids.

Its not about young singlemoms or dads but you really have to think interms of kids perspective. Sure if the singlemoms or dads are able, rich and have enough time to care for the kids, its good but most dont. So i really dont get why they dont think twice about using condoms in sex.
