The trope of the career woman living the lucrative Sex and the City lifestyle but unable to find love isn't exactly a new revelation. Though there's been a recent influx of women in the news reporting that they're "too educated to find love" or "men find their intelligence intimidating" or some inane shit.

They love to play the "I'm too smart" card when in actual fact that maybe they're the one's who are the problem - no one likes an insufferable human being who has some sort of superiority complex and has the need to talk down on others. Being devoid of warmth or other redeeming qualities.

This brings us back to the original analogy. That self-proclaimed "nice guys" love to blame their woes on being "too nice" when in actual fact that they're just simply not attractive or lack other redeeming traits. Both "nice guy tms" and "smart women tms" are entitled, whiny, lack redeeming qualities and blame their woes on the opposite gender without taking any responsibility.
