The thing you want is called Vasalgel, a 10 year temporary vasectomy at low cost (around $1000). It's essentially the injection of a microscopic crystal into your vas deferens, where it happily shreds your sperm into un-procreative pieces. It's been successfully tested in India, and here in the US it's now going through 2nd Stage trials (healthy human subjects) after a successful 1st Stage trial (animal subjects).

It appears utterly safe and effective, disintegrating naturally after 10 years. Or you can have it flushed out before, if you want kids. But the key here is that it has NO hormonal effects on your junk, your libido, or anything. It just neutralizes your sperm as they try to leave.

This has the potential to be a phenomenally game-changing development. What happens when "accidental" pregnancies are no longer possible? What happens when men, not women, control the means of reproduction? What happens when a young man, for a quick $1000, can ensure that he won't be the victim of reproductive coercion for a decade, while he builds the kind of boat he wants?

When this is approved (it's being handled by a non-profit, dependent upon donations - I encourage y'all to consider a contribution) then our boys will be safe from that unsavory aspect of reproduction and allowed to make the decision to be fathers on their own, not because of the whims of a woman.

It's a medical product, so it has to be approved for use. That process is very extensive, and takes an extremely long time. Since the main concerns with male birth control would be long-term effects, tests of over a year could be warranted, meaning that even if it had been fully developed, it would still be a few years before we saw it.

Secondly, it's not as easy as you might imagine to develop a semi-permanent non-hormonal male birth control. It needs to be nonreactive, safe for use inside the body, reversible (otherwise they could just get a vasectomy), viable long-term, and mass-produceable enough to be cheap.

Finally, it has to be significantly better than curently available forms of birth control in at least one aspect for people to invest in it. That means that until such a thing was found, nobody wanted to put money into it anyway, slowing development to a crawl.

"Suppressing", perhaps? I believe many doctors in the States are reluctant to perform vasectomies on unmarried or young (<30) men. While I agree there is not overt, planned conspiracy or agenda, I'm sure this would be what feminists would cite as "patriarchy".

Try and tell your friends you're planning on getting a vasectomy. The women will shame you and men will insinuate that being infertile (lacking virility) makes you less of a man.

I have an ex that was whining to me how her current beau had a vasectomy before she met him and how unsexy it is. Reading between the lines the problem is that she can't get pregnant by him.

Lesson: get some sperm frozen, get snipped, and don't tell a soul. If by some chance you meet a worthy woman later you can get the vasectomy reversed. If it doesn't take you always have your backup banked. Just make up some story about a testicular/fertility scare and how important children are to you if necessary.

They (feminists) believed that having a birth control pill would make women completely disposable (Pump N Dump society) and that men would lie to women about taking the pill so they could get her pregnant. (Ironically, they still are disposable to men and they now play the same head games they thought we would.)

There was a pill that was developed in the 70's derived from a plant in Africa by a pharmaceutical company, but feminists screeched loudly about it & society bowed to their Cooter Fruit Carrier Overlords and nixed it. The really messed up part of all of this was that the pill was 100% safe to consume and 100% effective (No side effects).

I am regurgitating this from the last time this topic came up. A poster made a very insightful comment that this procedure would only effect the 80/20 crowd. The Chad Thundercocks and the Dark Triads of the world would be the ones to get this procedure so they can fuck worry free. The beta male providers would be shamed into getting this done from the white knights and post wall women. I can see them starting meme's on how real men can reproduce and women would find a way to screen their potential providers on not doing this.

A separate issue I thought of is would the poor and impoverish communities have access to this? Would Planned Parenthood provide this at a low cost to poor people? Would this stem the bastard rate in some communities? Would they even go for it if it was offered to them?

Money and money alone is what driving everything in this world.

That's exactly why this thing is being delayed for over 20 years now. Just think about how many people lose money because of it. Less condom would be sold, less birth control pills. We all know how much money this industries make and how much they spend on lobbying. Doctors will start loosing some money because of less childbirth, less vasectomy, less abortion. Also, churches will oppose this as they oppose every other birth control.

Women would lose control over reproduction but the feminists are not the one that are blocking this, that's just silly.

Gandarusa is chemical that, if taken regularly, results in reversible infertility. Men who stop taking it regain their fertility shortly. It has been used for naturally in Indonesia for quite some time. My bet is that if this plant can be medically approved, it will become the top choice for men who wish to control their reproduction.

Its a problem about testicular shrinking. For what ever reason the moment you try to get them to go into standby they just decide to ditch half there volume and keep it off, and no pharmaceutical wants to be responsible for ball shrinking.

EDIT: Ok so to clear up some confusion, The thing I'm referring to will target a certain protein in the testes (BRDT), this disrupts the process of sperm production with the tradeoff mentioned above. Vasectomies and similar procedures like vasalgel block the sperm's path out of the body in some capacity.

An easy, affordable male birth control has an immense and immediate market and is pretty much a recipe to rolling in money.

Would it really "roll in money"? I doubt it because then less females will be on the pill. And in case of vasalgel there is not much money to be made from the pharmaceutical companies. They prefer stuff you have to take daily or hourly. Not just once. That's why there aren't any new antibiotics. Because if it works you have to take it maybe for 2 weeks. compared to the blood pressure medications which you have to take the rest of your life, often 2+ decades. Obvious which makes more money.

Now a replacement for "the pill" would be great. I always wondered whether the divorce rate isn't also at least partially influenced by choosing wrong partners. A woman on the pill is like a pregnant woman and they prefer (scientifically proven) men more similar to their own genes. When not pregnant the prefer the most different men genetically (mostly related to the immune system genes!!!, makes ton of sense evolutionary speaking).

Now with women often on the pill when meeting a new guy, she chooses the wrong one. She will be in an LTR with him. At some point she will go of the pill and then maybe she last a bit longer but at some point attraction is lost because she now prefers a genetically different partner.

It takes a long time to get new drugs to market. The FDA has a very extensive approval process, which can take up to 10 years or more.

From everything I have read, they have figured it out, the drug works, and they are just jumping through the FDA hoops. It should only be a matter of time.

Spermatogenesis Is complex and continual process and it's without a specific enzymatic process that can adequately disrupt sperm production. You cant just reduce sperm production by 80% or 90% or even 99% and market it.The liability would be enormous. Wrap it up have some extra spermicide and figure out her cycle and you'll be fine.

Second: money's agenda puts more money in the hands of the rulers over us by ensuring we DO get women pregnant on THEIR command/timing so they can lie about being on the pill. There are a few factors at play here, in addition to feminist suppression mentioned by other users.

Male biology is a bit more complicated; in a woman you only need to prevent 1 egg from being fertilized a month but in a man you'd need to prevent fertilization by potentially 1 billion sperm in a single ejaculation.
Historically, there has been lower interest from men than from women for medical contraceptives. Drug companies are only going to spend money to develop drugs there is a market for. Although men suffer financial repercussions from pregnancy, only women suffer the physical repercussions, therefore most men are less inclined to take medications that might have negative physical side effects with no direct physical benefits, especially when there are already other methods of birth control available.

But as other users said, there a products in the works for men, this is only an explanation as to why there hasn't been something released for men yet.

It wasn't the for the drive for money that they went to the moon. You are right that its a gazillion-dollar idea, but you would need to start with some basic research which is govt-funded by nature.

I would tend to agree with the hidden agendas here: Feminists would suppress any research-grant applications for male-empowering research.

Another line of research is the artificial womb. That one actually helps women who are infertile or premature children so its more likely to come to fruition imho. Of course, it's our trojan horse to feminism because if you take away the reproductive power from females, there's almost nothing left for them.

There are a bunch of female contraceptives out there but the pill uses estrogen/progesterone to inhibit the body's natural cyclical hormones. It also makes the cells lining the uterus less capable of allowing the fertilized egg to attach. We men produce sperm on the daily, here's an explanation because it's a bit harder to simplify.

My take is that it's easier to halt making a baby through a hostile environment than it is to f with our sperm production.

With female birth control you have all women of fertile age as customers in the western world. With male birth control you have 10-20% of men as customers. It would destroy profits of medical companies catastrophically.

I think the reason is simpler than what most have posited: birth control pills for women do not "kill" the egg, they basically just screw up a woman's hormones so the egg doesn't release, or if released, won't implant. And there's only one: it's not like if you have a 1 in a million failure rate, the whole thing is worthless.

In the case of sperm, there's too many of them, so if 1 in a million makes it through, it's still a problem. And the hormones would have to be really messed up to cause someone to stop producing sperm.

So I think it was far easier to solve this on the female side. I think you can forget about this being solved for men in your lifetime.
