In an effort to incentivize better content, I'd like to start a community "Post of the Week" award. Winners will get sweet, sweet bragging rights and subreddit-wide acknowledgement that they provided an interesting and stimulating idea. The rules are simple:

  1. This week's PotW contest is for posts/comments from 9/10-9/16 (last Saturday through today).
  2. Nominate high-quality posts or comments by making a top-level comment in this thread and linking to your nomination. You can nominate any number of posts/comments from any user, and can even nominate a conversation between two users (but no more than two; that just gets confusing). Quoting a brief excerpt is considerate but optional.
  3. You can vote on posts/comments by upvoting their top-level nomination comment in this thread. The highest upvoted comment will win.
  4. Voting will close Friday, September 23rd and the winner will be announced.

The idea is to encourage higher-quality posts/comments by bringing greater attention to them. Nominate liberally. For ideas on what should be considered "high-quality content," see my comment below.

Last Week's Winner

Last week's PotW was me with a comment about comparisons/analogies and how we use them. The full nomination thread from last week can be seen here.
