No one is saying an ugly talented man is going to get laid more than a hot talented man. I am saying ugly talented men get laid (and break the hearts of more attractive women) more than I ever would have expected.

You don't. Ugly people get laid all the time. Normally by other ugly people.

Unless TRP doesn't count sex with ugly women as actual sex. Most do though.

So yeah. You don't need to be a ripped model to get laid. Average and below average men do it all the time.

I believe the exact words were "he's going to be able to get laid", not that someone like him would be drowning in 10/10 pussy. The argument wasn't that he's more attractive than a male model, but that being short and overweight isn't a sexual death sentence if you make up for it in other ways. If you agree that Oswalt had sex before he got famous, then you agree with the original argument that introduced him.

This is the big issue with trying to explain that some people have unconventional taste. Use an example no ones ever heard of, like my old coworker, and it's a meaningless reference. Use an example someone's heard of, and they're immediately dismissed as only being attractive for their fame.

My brother is ugly as sin. As in, had facial surgery after a road accident ugly. He met his now wife in physio where she was recovering from a skiing accident. She's pleasant but not stunning. They have 3 kids; so he's had sex 3 times at least.

Ugly talented men that are celebrities give false hope to other guys who can do something about their attractiveness, but because they see a famous actor who is ugly and has an attractive girlfriend, they think that can happen to them! That or they get this idea that attractiveness doesn't matter.

You really want your view changed? Ok. Wouldn't you want people to be generally accepting of their looks and slovenly ways? It is actually a great argument because the more slobs there are, the better looking you are in comparison to the rest of the human race.

I didn't know the guy but after googling him I can say that I wouldn't call him sexually attractive but certainly not ugly. A matching woman in the looks department would be considered average. Him being raised as an example of unattractive men "getting laid" just shows the plight of men that really are ugly/below average.

fame has always been a road to less physically attractive men upping their SMV, whats the controversy here? so has wealth.

it is wealth fame and power that reveals the true nature of women. the most beautiful women on earth flock to where the most rich/famous/powerful men on earth are and sleep with or marry them. when peopel have the least limited options (the wealthiest most famous or most powerful men and the most beautiful women on earth) you see real human choices play out. everyone else is constrained by their station/location/appearance
