Summary.
To update your mental maps correctly, it is important to observe situations with one's ego or belief system temporararily suspended. This is because the belief system changes how we interprete events.
For the first half I describe how belief systems affect actions by giving an example. I then attempt to show how to observe the situation with the ego disengaged.
I then attempt to show that an optimum mental map or belief system is dependent on the individual. And that the optimum mental map for one individual will work against the best interests of another individual. The example I use is optimum sexual strategy for males and females.
I then conclude by showing when I presented the optimum female sexual strategy to TRP it was down voted and despite the hints I dropped few managed to get the point that optimum male strategy differs from optimum female strategy.
Also from looking at the responses of my experiment it was very clear that belief systems where affecting judgement.
