This study uses data from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) to compare the math and reading aptitude of boys to girls across many countries. One of its conclusions is that:

In all countries, girls perform better than boys in reading

If you had to guess, which of the following do you think is more likely

1) that there are cognitive differences (in the aggregate) between boys and girls, and that girls tend to have a greater innate ability in this area (but that some cultures increase or decrease that innate difference).

2) that there are no cognitive differences between boys and girls, but that every single culture is biased in favor of girls in exactly the same way.

3) that there are no cognitive differences between boys and girls, but that patriarchy hurts men too, so when girls outperform boys, that's obviously evidence of the awful oppression that women suffer and proof that we need to push harder for more equality (for women)
