The holidays are approaching, and for a lot of people, this is a busy time. Speaking for myself (23F) as a graduate student, the semester ends for me in a couple of days. My Captain (25M) lives about half an hour away from me, and I sadly could not make time to see him last weekend because my final projects for my classes have demanded all of my time.

I wanted to show him how much I appreciate him even though I was drained and cranky. So tonight I sent him a very silly (and cheesy) poem for him to read just before he went to bed:

"Roses are red, Violets are blue, I like [His Name], And so should you."

He responded with a much better one (note we're both passionate about running):

"[His Name]'s just as fun as a day in the sun, but remember he'll be with you when you want to go run. Whether you run in the morning or back of the group, [His Name] will have ups and downs, and let me level with you: you're getting faster, should that concern him? Soon you'll surpass your own goals, should you still hold them."

Moral of the story is: It takes you less than a minute to come up with a silly poem like I did, or to tell him what a manly studmuffin you think he is while he's busting his ass at work. I know that if you've finally found a good guy after weeding out some bad ones, it can be scary to be sweet like this early on in a relationship. But if your relationship is built on love and respect, he will love the sweet silly things you send him! Just don't show him all your cards at once, ladies ;)

Disclaimer: Obviously if the two of you live together, you can use quick IRL interactions to show your love and attraction for him, and that would be more optimal. I intended this mainly for RPW who do not live with their Captain or are in a new relationship.
