A few things to consider:

Find a mutual topic of interest to help develop a connection. I see you're a baseball fan and also like soccer and football based on your post and comment history. Ask her about her dad's sports interests and see if there is any common ground so you can talk about something besides his daughter the entire time.

See if it's possible to meet him somewhere to talk while doing something together. Rather than a potentially uncomfortable sit-down one on one, maybe you could meet and shoot some hoops together or something. Men tend to connect better that way.

She's a church girl, so faith is obviously going to come up. Are you a born again Christian? Is she? Do you both believe similar things in your theological views? What are his views on faith?

Shake his hand, look him in the eye, love hug his daughter, know that it’s alright to be nervous and be yourself. Don’t try, just do. You’ll be fine, more success to you fam 👍🏾

Just be yourself. No father wants his daughter dating a wimp, but neither does he want her to date someone that will break her heart. Show confidence in yourself and love for her and you should be fine.

Remember, you are evaluating him and the family too. Her father has had a profound impact on her understanding of masculinity, and the way the parents interact will likely be her default understanding of "normal" behavior.

I dated a girl who's dad let the mother rule the household. She would placate him decision making over trivial things, but the important stuff most often was decided by her. Guess what the daughter considered normal?
