Spouse comes before the call of God

I think this was thoroughly covered already. Mission first. Always. Read the other comments for more on this.

Women should be content with the man they submit to

As long as you're striving to be Christ-like to her, you should be good. As we draw closer to Christ He becomes more attractive to us and He makes us more attractive to Him Eph 5:25-27. In the same way you should continually become more attractive (in a worldly sense, but not a sinful one - physical, emotional, financial, ect) to your wife. And your actions in leading your wife should continually be shaping your wife to become more attractive to you.

Mission

My mission is to minister and disciple people, through the gift God has given me. I come into contact with a lot of teenagers who look up to me, because I sing and play guitar. I've started using this as a means to bring Christ into the relationship and show that seeking God is the ultimate satisfaction you can get. I am also looking to marry a woman that understands this is my ultimate calling, and wants to help disciple others.

Awesome! Are you discipling any of these teenagers or inviting them to hang out with you (to get a discipling relationship started?

Spiritual

I pray multiple times, daily

I have been actively seeking quiet time with God

I have been sharing my faith almost daily this week

Began writing down Scripture God laid on my heart and started memorizing them

Solid. All these things are invaluable to a strong walk with our creator. I've been memorizing scripture for the last 6-8 months and it has paid off many times over. I use the app Remember me. It keeps track of how often I need to review and has the ability to look up the verses so I only have to input the scripture and it pulls up the whole thing. I encourage Guys to start with memorizing verses that pertain to salvation in case you're ever in a conversation where God could use that. Verses like Rom 1:20, 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10; Eph 2:8-9; John 1:1-3, 3:16-17, 10:28-29; James 1:22, 2:10, 2:24, Gal 5:19-23; Isaiah 64:6; Jeremiah 17:9: 1 Tim 2:5; 2 Tim 3:16; 1 John 1:9; Prov 14:12, 16:2; Psalm 103:10. Those verses will cover most topics that come up in convos.

Men are the spiritual leader

Wrong. Men are the leader (period). Not just in the spiritual realm.

Also under “Biblical role definitions” there is no mention of the husbands duty to love their wife and for the wife’s duty to respect her husband and submit to him (and not vice versa). Those are fundamental roles that must be committed to.

Priorities must be in order: Relationship with God, Spouse comes before the call of God, Children, Extended family/friends

This is just absurd. First, "relationship with God" is not the same thing as your mission for God. Second, your spouse does not come before your mission. Third, Jesus talks so much about the weakness of human familial bonds that I don't even know how we include them in our priority list. Example: "They are not my mother and brothers. You who do the will of my Father are my mother and brothers." Example: "If anyone does not hate his father and mother, brother and sister, wife and children, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple." Jesus wasn't joking when he said that. It wasn't a gag. That doesn't mean you ignore your family. It means that your context for relating with your family is defined by your mission for God.

Build a solid, covenant relationship with spouse

What's the difference between a "solid covenant relationship" and a normal "covenant relationship"? Is a solid one the kind where you let your spouse do whatever she wants and you have to let her get away with it because you're never allowed to impose consequences or divorce her? The more you focus on the covenant, the worse your relationship will be. The less you focus on the covenant (in favor of your mission), the more secure the covenant becomes as a byproduct.

Establish a one-flesh relationship

Ok, have lots of sex. I'm on board with him here. Wait ... I didn't actually watch the video (at work). He is talking about sex here, right?

Ask your spouse about their needs and meet them

What if my wife says she needs a bigger house, better car, and a vacation to the Bahamas with her girl friends? This is stupid. Watch what they do, not what they say. Don't ask what her needs are - be observant and attentive and take charge. Don't say, "Honey, how would you like me to lead you today?"

Understand Biblical love: 1 Cor. 13, Patient, kind, no envy or pride, etc.

Ok, this really gets me ticked off. It's one of my pet peeves. 1 Cor. 13 is about unity within the church between members of the body of Christ. It is not about spousal love. That passage has been misapplied and misconstrued because of its false context for so many years ... if there's anything that ever gives me cause to doubt the Holy Spirit, it's in wondering how he lets people get away with this type of eisegesis for so long.

As with most Christian content, I'm sure there is some really good stuff in this video. I don't mean to be a total downer on the guy - especially noting that I didn't actually watch the video. I may get to it when a few minutes free up for me. Who knows. My point is that these types of falsities that creep into otherwise good content can be incredibly dangerous and they're the reason the church is screwed up so bad right now.

Let me be clear: I despise the doctrine that only ordained ministers who are seminary trained should be allowed to teach in the church. But when I see all the harm that amateur teaching has caused, I develop a sort of empathy for those absurd extremists. Of course, then I remember that seminaries have been tainted by the bad teachings even worse than everywhere else and that they're the cause of most of these problems ... and my empathy turns back into a combination of indignation and apathy.
